Congratulations to our USA Surfing Prime Series competitors on an outstanding start to the 2025/2026 season. 📈Your hard work, commitment, and progression are showing, and we’re just as proud of the camaraderie and sportsmanship we’ve seen across the field. 👏🇺🇸

As we head into the final stretch before Champs at Lowers, USA Surfing is proud to announce the mid-season call ups to our Junior National and Development Teams.

Mid-year call-ups are based on results from the top two Prime Series events at the midpoint of the season on both coasts. Surfers who reached or exceeded the 4,000-point performance benchmark (set by the Competition Committee) met the mid-season nomination cutoff for National and Development Team consideration.

These call-ups reflect consistent top results. In most cases, reaching 4,000 points meant repeated semifinals-or-better finishes, plus at least one finals result of third place or better to separate from the field.

Swipe for the mid-season call up by division. You’ll see movement within the teams: some Development Team surfers have moved up to the National Team, and both rosters include new members.

In making the announcement, Head Coach Simmo said: “The mid-season team call up rewards those surfers currently on the Development Team and those who weren’t named last August, but have excelled in the first half of the Prime Series season. These surfers will now get to train with the Team for the remainder of the season. Those surfers currently on the team named last August will remain on the team and the mid-season assessment has no bearing on your status for the remainder of the year. Congrats to all, you earned this through your hard work and dedication to continued learning and growth. We commend you and look forward to helping you become a better surfer, competitor and person.”

🚨🏄‍♀️Girls U14 🇺🇸Prime Series surfer Peeta Kenworthy is leveling up in all the ways:
✅ rail game
✅ big airs
✅ releasing her fins

In her semi, USA Surfing’s Athlete Commissioner Todd Kline and coach Simmo broke down one of her waves on the broadcast, calling out how much her backside bottom turn has improved… and if you surf, you know that’s a tricky one to get right. 🔁💪

That’s a big part of why we’re broadcasting these events with TV: not just to watch heats, but to give surfers, coaches, and parents real tools to learn what’s being rewarded and keep progressing. Hit the bio link to watch the replay.

The West Coast Prime Series Girls U16 Final at was one of the slower heats of the day, making wave selection and seizing opportunity critical🌊⏳

Early in the day, Isla Pinto said in her post-heat interview she was gunning for the win. That she did, starting the final with an 8.17 putting the whole field on defense. ✅🔥

Proud of these girls who caught some of the best waves of their careers in a jersey: Charlotte Moschopoulos and Emery Storrer dropping 9’s, and Peeta Kenworthy putting on a backside clinic.

Eden Walla - Perfect 10 🔟 Event win 🏆✨ And…🥁   “Most Innovative Maneuver” award for the girls.

Anyone who knows Eden Walla knows innovation is her default setting. New lines, crazy roundhouses, smashing sections. So much fun to watch.

This award is extra sweet: Eden’s family camps and travels across the country surfing, and drying wetsuits on the road is a real challenge, so they’re very happy winners of a SURFDRY unit 🙌

SURFDRY is proud to support USA Surfing and the next generation of America’s top surf talent. The boy and girl with the most innovative maneuver of the event take home a SURFDRY unit.

SURFDRY is an innovative, portable, patent-pending drying device that dries wetsuits and booties, eliminates odors, and helps your gear last longer.
