Day 4 | World Para Surf Championships 🌊🇺🇸

USA Surfing’s team showed grit and comebacks all day and are in position to make a strong push to the podium. 🥇

Here are some highlights:

Sit waveski — Men: Jeff Munson opened the day with solid rides and a strong position. Chris Oberle battled a wave-starved first round. Both are back tomorrow for Round 2, where the top 4 advance to the final. ♿️🔥

Sit waveski — Women: Alana Nichols ripped her opener with power + style. She’s the surfer to beat in her division. 💥

Prone 2 — Women: Quinn Waitley + Ashley Bunting found dreamer waves that didn’t end up factoring in their score lines. Both move on to the semis. 🚀

VI (partially blind): Emily Purry stacked two good rides and nearly pulled into a bomb set. It was her first ISA Worlds and she crushed it—stoked she’s on the squad. 🤝

Prone 1 — Women: Sarah Bettencourt locked a finals berth off a strong Round 1. Katherine Beattie improved both scores today and just missed the cut, but ends the season with a huge year of progress and we’re proud. 💪

Men: Parker Olenick lifted his totals and pushed hard, but just needed a touch more. Jacob Pacheco ground it out with strong numbers and is into the semis. 🎯

Schedule note: Joshua’s VI heat was moved to tomorrow due to glare. ⏭️

Two days to go and the swell is building. Let’s finish strong. 🇺🇸🌊
