We asked teens what stresses them out the most right now… and the answer was unanimous.

📚 School pressure. Grades. Future plans.

If you’re a teen reading this: you’re not weak for feeling overwhelmed. The expectations placed on teens today are real, and carrying all of that pressure silently can take a serious toll on mental health.

And if you’re a parent: if your teen seems irritable, shut down, unmotivated, or anxious, it may not be “attitude.” It may be stress overload.

Support can help teens:
    •    manage anxiety and overwhelm
    •    build coping skills and confidence
    •    learn emotional regulation tools
    •    feel less alone in what they’re carrying

You don’t have to navigate it alone. 🤍

A reminder for today: small kindness counts. 🤍
Just small, steady moments of connection that remind your nervous system: I’m safe. I’m supported. I’m not alone.
Kindness can look like:
a text that says “thinking of you”
letting someone vent without fixing
bringing a coffee
holding the door
offering a genuine compliment
being softer with yourself
Connection matters more than perfection, always.
Tag someone who needs this today.

Low self-esteem in teens doesn’t always look like sadness.

A lot of the time, it shows up in ways parents don’t expect, like:

perfectionism (they fall apart if it’s not “perfect”)
shutdown (“I don’t care” / staying in their room more)
irritability (short fuse, snapping, being easily overwhelmed)
constant comparing (friends, bodies, grades, popularity)
avoiding activities they used to enjoy (fear of being judged or failing)
Sometimes what looks like “attitude” is really insecurity, anxiety, or fear of not being enough.

Here’s what helps most:

✅ connection before correction

✅ noticing effort (not just outcomes)

✅ validating feelings without dismissing them

✅ support that builds coping skills and confidence over time

Confidence can be built with support.

If you’re noticing these signs in your teen, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

If Valentine’s Day feels heavy… you don’t have to explain it away.
For some people, this season brings warmth and connection. For others, it brings:
-grief
-loneliness
-breakups
-relationship strain
-pressure and comparison
-reminders of what you’ve lost or what you wish was different
If that’s you, there’s nothing wrong with you. You’re human.
You don’t have to force gratitude. You don’t have to fake “being okay.” And you don’t have to go through this alone.
Therapy can be a space to process what this time of year stirs up, rebuild support, and move forward with more steadiness and self-compassion.
If you need support, we’re here.

Valentine’s Day can be sweet… but it can also feel heavy.

Whether you’re celebrating, single, grieving, healing, or feeling a little “meh” about the whole thing, here’s your reminder: self-care counts too.

Therapy taught us that rest, boundaries, fresh air, and peaceful moments aren’t extra. They’re necessary. 🤍

If today brings up loneliness, comparison, or relationship stress, you don’t have to push it down or pretend you’re fine. Support is available, and you deserve it.

February can make social comparison hit harder for teens.

Valentine’s Day posts, “perfect” relationship content, gift photos, body/beauty trends, and popularity dynamics can quietly spike anxiety and self-doubt. Even confident teens can start feeling like they’re behind.

Social comparison steals confidence and it often looks like:

-mood shifts after scrolling

-harsh self-criticism (“I’m not good enough”)

-withdrawal or isolation

-body image concerns

-sudden obsession with being liked/approved

What parents can do that actually helps:

✅ validate before you problem-solve (“That sounds really hard”)

✅ reduce shame (“You’re not dramatic, this is a lot”)

✅ model healthier self-talk out loud

✅ create offline connection (walks, errands, dinner, game night)

✅ set gentle boundaries with phones and bedtime scrolling

If your teen seems more anxious, sensitive, or disconnected this month, it may not be “attitude.” It may be comparison overload.

Support can help teens rebuild self-worth.

Galentine’s Day is the reminder we all need: love isn’t only romantic. Friendship is one of the strongest protective factors for mental health, especially during seasons that can feel lonely or heavy.

💘 3 Galentine’s ideas that are fun and good for your mental health:

Walk + Talk Date (fresh air + movement + connection)

Cozy Craft Night (coloring, vision boards, baking, DIY bouquets)

“High / Low / Hope” Check-In (real connection without pressure)

Tag your girls and plan something that fills your cup.

02/06/2026

If your teen is pulling away lately, it doesn’t automatically mean defiance.
For many teens, withdrawal is a sign of stress, overwhelm, or emotional overload — not a lack of care or respect.
School pressure, social comparison, relationship stress, and nervous system fatigue can all show up as distance, irritability, or shutting down.
You don’t have to figure this out alone. Support can help teens (and parents) feel more connected, understood, and regulated again.

If your teen is dating, it can be hard to know what’s “normal” and what’s a red flag.

A healthy teen relationship isn’t perfect, but it should feel safe, respectful, and age-appropriate. Here are a few green flags parents can look for:

✅ Respect for boundaries (no pressure, no guilt, no control)

✅ Kind communication (even during conflict)

✅ Freedom to stay connected to friends, family, and activities

✅ Mutual trust (not monitoring, jealousy, or constant checking)

✅ Emotional safety (they can say no without fear)

Reminder: healthy relationships support confidence, not anxiety.

If you ever feel concerned, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Support is available for teens and parents.
