SDVoyager recently sat down with me to learn more about my career path and Teague Law - I truly appreciate their time and interest! 🙏🏼

I am a bit embarrassed that I used the exact same phrase twice -- "personal care and attention I give to each client who comes through my doors" -- but I suppose there could worse things to emphasize ;)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Teague. Ashley, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today. Various friends and family members told me throughout my life, “when you grow up, you should be a lawyer…” I was never quite sure ...

If your goal is to leave your home to your adult kid(s) at death, simply adding them to title while living is a BAD idea - here's why!

Parents sometimes transfer title on their house to an adult child in an attempt to sidestep probate or to keep the home from being lost to pay for nursing home care

Yesterday, we received clarification from the California Secretary of State re: whether or not estate plans can be safely and lawfully signed during this unprecedented time - the use of a notary public is essential. I spoke with my mobile notary Patrick from sdsignings.com last night, and he and his team are at our service! From Patrick: "We will be extra safe keeping everything clean, and will be thoughtful of distance."

"The California Secretary of State reports that Notaries in California are permitted to perform notarizations, and will not be penalized for doing so, during the current COVID-19 'shelter in place' order as long as there are no restrictions from individual county health officers, and you follow federal, state and local guidelines to protect public health."

Clients new and old have been reaching out to me during this uncertain time, wanting to make sure their affairs are in order. I think the instinct at play is a desire to create some sense of control and ease amidst the chaos.

My goal is to be a resource for any of you out there who have questions, uncertainties, or concerns about estate planning. Please feel free to reach out - although I continue to work from home for my existing clients, the court and office closures have freed up a significant amount of my time. ashley@sandiegowilltrust.com or (619) 501-3500

My thoughts and love go out to everyone right now - stay safe and healthy - we will get through this together!
