You are not responsible for carrying someone else’s childhood trauma.

Sometimes, when people share their story, we give them a pass for behaviors that slowly become toxic to us—our energy, our projects, our life. We do this out of compassion for what they’ve been through.
But compassion should never require self-harm.

Acknowledging someone’s past does not mean you must allow them into your energy if their presence wounds you—sometimes not all at once, but through a slow erosion, like death by a thousand paper cuts.

What we can do instead, when possible and when welcomed, is offer tools. Support. Direction.
But love also asks discernment.

As we help those who are actively healing, we must also recognize—out of love—when someone’s journey is too heavy for our nervous system, our mental health, or our energetic balance.

If you’ve been scarred by toxic relationships, or by people whose unresolved trauma deeply compromised your wellbeing, this message is for you.

And if you need support in reclaiming your energy, you don’t have to do it alone.

That is free will.
