It’s breast cancer awareness month, and one of the many side effects for women with breast cancer is a loss of hair due to chemotherapy treatment. Did you know that there are organizations that provide wigs to women at no cost if they financially qualify? Consider donating to a local wig bank or non-profit that provides these services.

Did you know that elephants don’t usually get cancer? Scientists believe it’s because elephants are the only mammal that has extra copies of a certain gene. The team at DefineMBC and Epic Sciences is working to raise funds for further cancer research by participating in the Susan G. Komen San Diego walk (if you’re in the area on November 6th, swing by our booth for an exclusive gift). Did you know that the first breast cancer ribbon wasn’t pink? According to curetoday.com, when Charlotte Haley designed the original ribbon to raise awareness about how cancer fundraiser dollars were being used, the ribbon was actually peach. Self Magazine chose to use pink due to its calming and soothing color. Share how you show your support!
