🌙 Night Sweats: Postpartum 🌙

Dear new moms, let's talk about something that often catches us by surprise during the postpartum journey – NIGHT SWEATS. 💦

Those middle-of-the-night drenching episodes can be intense, but guess what? They're entirely normal. Your body is working hard to regulate and shed the extra fluid gained during pregnancy. It's like a detox from the inside out! 🤱

Here are a few tips to make these nights a bit more bearable:

1. Stay Hydrated: Sip water throughout the day to keep your body balanced. Dehydration can actually make night sweats worse.

2. Breathable Fabrics: Opt for light, breathable sleepwear and sheets. Cotton is your best friend!

3. Layer Up: Layer your bedding so you can easily adjust the warmth level as needed.

4. Self-Care: Don't forget the power of a quick, soothing shower before bed. It can help you feel refreshed.

"When Diana first walked into the door, our daughter, Skylark, who at the time was 9 months old and rarely warmed to strangers, immediately raised up her arms and reached out to Diana. On their first day, Skylark had a great time with Diana. After Diana left, my husband and I talked for a while about that, and determined that Diana has the right combination of empathy and love and an understanding of tone and expression to immediately put children at ease and into a good place. After that, her relationship with our daughter only got both stronger and more carefree.
I worked with a few postpartum doulas, and one thing that made Diana stand out was how dedicated she was to her role in providing mental and emotional support for me as a mother. I am someone who generally keeps my emotions to myself, and so I think people generally don't press me to talk about myself. Diana was persistent about checking in with me, each visit, but she did it in a way that was unimposing. She is easy to talk to, non-judgmental, and not only listened, but also shared from her own experiences as a mother, which allowed me to feel more comfortable opening up. She helped me to reflect and recognize where I needed support, and then was able to provide that support.
Diana was reliable and always on time. She was also flexible and made every effort to accomodate our timing needs, while still keeping her commitment to other clients. She was precise, and knew what questions to ask to help her understand and accomplish the tasks and routines we required. This made us confident that she understood and could meet both our needs and our daughter's. This relieved a lot of stress and we had no problem at all when we had to throw a new and unusual task at her.
It was a joy and delight to work with Diana. We recently moved to New Zealand, and really hope we can find someone like her here."

Power pumping helps mimic cluster feeding and may increase milk production. If you want to give a try to power pumping follow the instructions below :
1. Pump for 20 min
2. Rest for 10 min
3. Pump for 10 min
4. Rest for 10 min
5. Pump for 10 min

A power pumping session last 1 hour. Do it once daily for up to a week. Some people notice a difference in the amount of milk they pump after 3 days and for other it may take a week.
