Healing doesn’t happen in isolation—and no one should have to walk their recovery journey alone.

Join our 12-Step Wellbriety Talking Circle, a culturally grounded space for healing, connection, and support. This free, open-to-everyone gathering offers a safe and welcoming environment rooted in community, tradition, and recovery.

This talking circle offers:
• A supportive space to share and listen
• Cultural connection and reflection
• Peer support rooted in the Wellbriety model
• Healing for mind, body, and spirit

Mammogram appointments in San Diego can take six months to a year. That wait can delay care when early detection matters most.

San Diego Community Health Center is partnering with UC San Diego to bring mobile mammogram screenings directly to our community—reducing wait times and making access easier.

Appointments for our upcoming screening day are almost full, but anyone who signs up now will be placed on the next available screening date and receive priority access when new appointments open.

Join us for a free equine-assisted wellness experience designed for Native youth and young adults ages 12–24.
No horseback riding required and no prior experience needed.

This hands-on event offers a unique opportunity to connect with horses in a calm, supportive setting that promotes emotional balance, stress relief, and personal growth. Participants will explore healthy coping skills, build confidence, and strengthen mind–body wellness alongside peers and mentors.

As we begin the new year, we’re returning to what grounds us as a community 🌱

At the San Diego American Community Health Center, health goes beyond appointments and check-ups — it’s about connection: to each other, to the land, and to the food that nourishes our bodies. Our gardens are a vital part of this journey, helping provide fresh produce to our patients while reminding us that wellness starts with access, care, and intention. Through our Youth Center, young people take part in hands-on learning in the garden, where they explore how food is grown, how to care for the land, and how healthy habits can carry into adulthood. It’s more than gardening — it’s about responsibility, cultural connection, and growing stronger together as a community.

As we move into the year ahead, we’re grateful for the people, programs, and partnerships that help strengthen our community from the ground up. Here’s to nourishment, growth, and collective well-being in the year to come.
