This Month, we hosted our Mammogram Screening Event in partnership with University of California San Diego (UCSD)

A special thank you to UCSD staff members Kathie, Dahlia, and Felicia for bringing their expertise and care to our community. Kathie, registered Nurse, provided on-site mammogram screenings, helping make preventive care accessible and comfortable for our patients.

Events like this reduce barriers to care and remind our community that early detection saves lives. When screenings are brought directly to trusted community spaces, it creates safety, trust, and empowerment around women’s health.

Our team remains committed to hosting health events like this throughout the year — making prevention easier, more accessible, and centered around community.

• Strengthening peer connection and community support
• Promoting healing for mind, body, and spirit

By walking together and sharing stories, our youth are building resilience, connection, and a stronger sense of belonging.

This week, our community had the joy of participating in the Healing Garden Workshop, beautifully led by Master Gardener Lucy Warren and the Paradise Gardeners Club. 🌿

Fourteen participants had the opportunity to plant their own poppy seeds, while the Paradise Gardeners Club guided a tour around their native garden, sharing the stories and traditions behind each plant.

“Gardening isn’t just about plants—it’s about growth, connection, and healing. Spending time in the garden encourages mindfulness, strengthens community bonds, and creates space for reflection and wellness.”

Workshops like this remind us of the power of community and the ways simple activities—planting, exploring, and learning—can nurture both the earth and our spirits. Our staff member Iridian helped make this event possible, supporting participants, coordinating activities, and ensuring everyone felt welcome and engaged throughout the workshop.

We are grateful to everyone who joined, to Master Gardener Lucy Warren, the Paradise Gardeners Club, and especially Iridian for bringing this meaningful and inspiring experience to life. 🌱
Stay tuned for more opportunities to join hands-on workshops that foster healing, learning, and connection within our community.
