As a part of our cornea repair process we usually have a 2 step procedure. The first step is laser surgery to whittle away at the aberrations in the eye to eliminate any scars, trauma or infection. The second step is laser surgery to fix your correction so you may see clearer than before. This video shares the second step of the procedure to help you see potentially close to 20/20. The second step usually occurs months after the first surgery because the eye needs to heal in between surgeries to operate again. This patient had Radial Keratotomy years prior and now has gone through with their enhancement can now hope to have better vision than before.

This patient suffered from myopia which is often referred to as nearsightedness and had received LASIK to help reshape the cornea and potentially improve their vision. LASIK (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) is a popular, FDA-approved refractive eye surgery that uses lasers to permanently reshape the cornea to correct nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism.

Cornea repairs for Radial Keratotomy is very common because the surgery does not last as long as other procedures that restore vision to the eye. However, not many people know that this can be repaired! Thousands of people who believe that their vision is getting worse with age can still get repairs done!
