This patient had LASIK done in 1997 and while their vision was great for a while, it started to get worse over time. It is speculated that since LASIK is not as advanced and precise as it is now, that LASIK in the 90's we're often not as good or efficient as they are done now. This leaves many people having to get a cornea repair or LASIK enhancement done to correct their vision even further to help stabilize it.

The WaveLight excimer laser is the most advanced laser machine to help treat myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism in that it is able to track the fastest eye movement during surgery and maps the cornea to follow the correct laser needed to treat your cornea. PTK is a precise laser eye surgery using an excimer laser to smooth the cornea's surface by removing superficial scars, irregularities, and certain dystrophies, improving vision and treating conditions like recurrent corneal erosions.
