In 2025, LivsMed continued advancing surgical innovation by bringing robotic capability to operating rooms in hospitals and ASCs across the country. We also remained committed to our mission of democratizing healthcare — ensuring that every breakthrough we deliver isn’t just innovative, but truly affordable. LivsMed’s new double-jointed, fully articulating Clip Applier delivers the widest range of motion available, even in the narrow pelvic space. Surgical teams and patients are now able to benefit from more precise angles of approach and flexible movements that better target critical structures and achieve secure clip application.

The telesurgery capabilities of LivsMed’s new STARK™ RAS were demonstrated in an early feasibility wet lab study on July 1st. Conducted in conjunction with Sovato, this study demonstrated the viability of long-distance telesurgery using the STARK platform. Live procedures were performed with the surgeon console in Santa Barbara, CA, and the STARK robot in Chicago, IL.

LivsMed is working to democratize advanced remote robotic surgery — making it not only accessible, but also affordable for hospitals and patients worldwide.
Today, Dr. Max Hazeltine of City of Hope presented the study results to CRSA attendees from the recent wet-lab study, where LivsMed demonstrated its STARK™ telesurgery-native robotic system. The STARK robotic console in Santa Barbara, CA was connected to the Robot in Chicago, IL via the Sovato network. The results confirmed the feasibility and safety of complex remote surgical procedures using the STARK system with Sovato’s telecommunications platform.

If you’re wondering where the latest high-tech innovations in laparoscopic surgery are coming from, take a look at LivsMed.
LivsMed and Sovato recently completed an early-feasibility wet-lab study—spanning more than 2,000 miles—using STARK, the world’s newest telesurgery-native robot. Visitors can learn more at the 16th Clinical Robotic Surgery Association (CRSA) World Congress in Huntington Beach, as we wrap up our November High-Tech MedTech Roadshow.
So far, the Roadshow has made stops at the 50th Annual Korean-American Medical Association (K**A) Scientific Convention in Washington, D.C., the AAGL25 Global Conference in Vancouver, and the ASMBS Weekend Meeting in Louisville, KY. Attendees have experienced the ArtiSential™ line—now featuring more than 50 fully articulating instruments and end effectors; the ArtiSential 5 series, the first 5mm articulating laparoscopic line offering enhanced flexibility and ease of use; the ArtiSential Clip Applier, the only 90° double-jointed articulating clip applier; and ArtiSeal™, the only 90° double-jointed articulating vessel sealer.
If you can’t see us on the road, email infoUSA@LivsMed.com to schedule a meeting with your local LivsMed representative and experience LivsMed’s solutions at work in your hospital or ASC.

On Tuesday, November 11, Yufan “Brandon” Chen, MD, FACOG, will present the findings of his study, “Conventional Laparoscopic vs. Multi-Degree of Freedom Articulating Instruments in Minimally Invasive Surgical Suturing.”

The study evaluated the ArtiSential™ laparoscopic needle driver—a novel, multi-degree-of-freedom instrument—and compared its performance to conventional (straight stick) laparoscopic instruments. Specifically, it examined knot-tying times during laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy procedures.

Dr. Chen’s presentation will take place during Oral Session 05, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Vancouver Convention Centre, Vancouver, B.C., Canada.
Dr. Chen serves as Chief, Division of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery, Kern Medical; Assistant Professor, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and Associate Program Director, OBGYN Residency Program.

If you’re unable to attend Dr. Chen’s presentation or visit LivsMed at AAGL Booth #537, please email infoUSA@LivsMed.com to schedule a meeting with your local LivsMed representative and experience LivsMed’s innovations in action at your hospital or ASC.

Company Overview

LIVSMED is a medical device company that brings advanced clinical care to minimally invasive surgery. We have achieved this by creating a new generation of laparoscopic technology. Our new group of instruments, ArtiSential™, are a blending of the words “articulation” and “essential”. LivsMed’s ArtiSential™ line provides multiple degrees of freedom at the tip of the instrument that is perfectly synchronized with the user’s wrist and hand movements. These instruments can be immediately incorporated into any existing surgical environment without additional capital or footprint like those of the robotic systems today. With ArtiSential™, we are bringing precision surgery to the hands of doctors one patient at a time.
