What No One Understands About Infertile Holidays 💔

The holidays are supposed to be joyful — but for couples facing infertility, they can be some of the hardest days of the year.

Everyone’s asking: “Any baby news?”
Meanwhile, you’re quietly sinking — smiling through pain that no one else can see.

For years, Christy and I went through holidays like that.
No plan. No hope. No direction.
Just the ache of explaining, again, that she couldn’t carry… and the hollow silence when people didn’t understand what that really meant.

It felt like being stuck in an elevator that wouldn’t move — watching everyone else go on with their lives while we stayed trapped between floors.

Then came the miracle.
A woman said yes.
Our surrogate gave us a map, a plan, and oxygen to breathe again. She guided our children safely home to us.

So if you’re an Intended Parent sinking through another painful holiday season — hold on. Movement is coming.

When Your Soul Answers Before You Think

Some moments in life don’t ask for permission. They arrive fully formed—before your mind can catch up, before logic can explain.

The night Christy told me she couldn’t carry a baby, something in me already knew the answer. I didn’t think. I didn’t pause. I just said, “We’ll get a surrogate when the time comes.”

That sentence changed everything.
It created a we before we’d even decided to be one.
It set in motion the family we now have—four children, all born through surrogacy.

Sometimes the path to your future doesn’t appear in perfect order. Sometimes your soul answers first, and your mind learns to trust it later.

I Heard My Children Crying in the Wind

After three miscarriages, a stillbirth, and losing twins through surrogacy, I felt like a soldier who had seen too many friends die in battle.
My wife Christy could conceive but couldn’t carry. We thought surrogacy would be simple. Clinical. Controlled.

We were wrong.

The day before our 3D ultrasound, we saw two perfect heartbeats. The next day, one was gone. The silence that followed changed everything.

That heartbreak became the soil where miracles grew — not just for us, but for hundreds of other families we helped after sharing our story.

We built Expect Miracles Surrogacy from that pain, one miracle at a time.

Today, when I watch our four children play baseball, laugh, and live, I don’t think about college scholarships or careers — I think about the sound of their laughter and the grace that made it possible.

Everyone assumes I’d feel empty after giving birth.

That I’d hand over the baby and feel a loss. That some part of me would break when I watched them leave the hospital with a child I carried for nine months.

The opposite happened.

I felt whole. Full. More complete than before I started.

And I’m not alone in this.

Research shows that decades after their journeys, surrogates describe the experience as a positive part of their identity they remain proud of.

But nobody talks about why.
