We acknowledge that we reside on Kumeyaay land and recognize the enduring legacy of the Kumeyaay people. 🌿 Long before commercial to***co existed, Indigenous peoples used to***co for ceremonial and medicinal purposes. Today, the commercial to***co industry is exploiting the relationship between to***co and Indigenous communities. We stand with Indigenous communities in reclaiming customary to***co practices and resisting commercial to***co harms.

We are excited to announce that we are co-sponsoring a screening of the award-winning documentary, The Cigarette Surfboard. This film is being shown as part of the Arts & Lectures series on November 19th. The documentary follows the story of surfer-designer Taylor Lane, who builds a working surfboard out of 10,000 cigarette butts. His mission was to spark global ocean activism and hold Big To***co accountable. Following the screening, there will be a moderated Q&A with Lane and filmmaker Ben Judkins as well as remarks from community leaders and experts in the field. We invite you to join us for this free event.
