So… I did a thing 😩
Hi 👋 it’s been a minute! I’ll be honest with you, 2025 has really tried to kick my behind in so many ways. Especially physically. Earlier this year I was dealing with this systemic inflammation in my arms and hands. And I guess my lower half got a bit jealous they weren’t invited into the party because here we go!
Injuries are interesting. Most people think that injury is a result of them doing something wrong. And, if you think that, you are right! All injury happens from something happening to it. What I mean by that is all injury has a cause.
However, not all injury is caused by a a traumatic event. Most injuries happen because the body’s movement patterns have been compromised by overuse/ underuse of muscle and/or joint and over time the body adapts to the tension being placed on it creating new potential injuries in the body.
I think all of us who are of a certain age ( if you grew up watching Saturday morning cartoons, I’m talking to you 😉) have experienced doing “nothing” and then BOOM… something hurts!!
That’s the body letting you know that your warranty is up on that body part and you have to take it in for service.
That’s what happened to my knee. I’ve put a lot of load on this body through the years of being an athlete etc. my knees have taken on a lot of imbalances and the joints have remodeled putting a lot of stress on the ligaments and cartilage in and around the joint. Even though I didn’t “do” anything, my warranty was up. Either I have a bone spur that broom off and lodged into my joint, or, I tore the posterior horn of my meniscus. Both which will cause the knee to get “stuck” and not extend.
So, away we go on our journey to see what’s next. Stay tuned
