Not my OBGYN. Not my friends. Not a single person in my life sat me down and said hey, here’s what’s coming.

So when the anxiety hit out of nowhere I thought something was seriously wrong with ME. When my body started changing even though nothing else had changed I thought I was failing. When the brain fog got so thick I couldn’t finish a sentence I thought I was losing it.

It was hormones. Not me.

Here are 7 things I wish someone had warned me about:

Mood changes and anxiety that feel like they belong to someone else

Random aches and pains that show up overnight for no reason

Your body changes shape even when nothing else has changed

Brain fog so thick you forget words mid-sentence

Sleep disappears. Exhausted but wide awake at 3am.

You lose interest in things that used to light you up

The weight gain happens even when you’re doing everything right

You are not broken. You are in menopause.

Once I understood what was happening, I could fix the symptoms!

I hear this ALL the time.

Doing 100 crunches a day will not give you a flat belly. Not at 40, 50, or beyond.

Most ā€œab exercisesā€ only work the surface muscles. They don’t target your deep core or address the real blockers.

The real blockers for midlife women:

Cortisol and stress belly fat

Insulin resistance from inflammation

Nobody warned me about any of this.

I was 50 when my body started doing things I didn’t recognize. Waking up at 2am for no reason. Reacting to foods I’d eaten my entire life. Forgetting words mid-sentence. Peeing when I sneezed.

I thought something was wrong with me.

It wasn’t. It was hormones playing a big role changing and reshaping everything, and not a single person prepared me for it.

Don’t hide when the camera comes out!! Feeling more confident in photos is definitely not about being perfect. It is about knowing a few simple tricks that instantly change how you look on camera.

When the camera comes out, we use this quick 3-part checklist:

✨ Shift & Snake (The Torso Rule)
Avoid standing square to the camera. Shift your weight to your back leg, turn your hips slightly away, and rotate your shoulders just a bit. When your hips and shoulders move in different directions, it creates a flattering ā€œSā€ curve.

✨ Trace & Space (The Arm Rule)
Arms pressed flat against your sides make us look wider. Instead, create a little space between your arms and your body or knees to form triangles. You can also use your arms to trace your waistline.

✨ Step & Stretch (The Leg Rule)
To instantly elongate your body, step the leg closest to the camera slightly forward, keep it soft, and point your toe. When sitting, stretch your legs away at a slight angle to create long diagonal lines. Slightly uncomfortable… but it looks amazing.

Understanding just a few posing tricks can completely change how you see yourself in photos.

1 out 2 women over 50 will break a bone due to osteoporosis
20% of women over 65 will die within a first year of a hip fracture . Don’t look away! This is not ā€œfear mongering!ā€ As someone wrote on my carousel the other day. It’s actual studies and It’s a reminder and hard warning because we CAN prevent and even reverse this.

This is an important topic! The most recent podcast interview I did with Zora is pulling back the curtain on some things we need to know and some simple things we can do!
