When you say, "I understand." to someone regardless of your own opinions and thoughts, you also say, "I value you." and "I am listening to you."

The next time your partner, friend, etc. shares something that is frustrating them, make your job easy and just hold that space with an, "I hear you. I understand." and watch them feel loved!

GASLIGHTING IS A THING. It is a huge relationship DESTROYER. If you do this: STOP. If you are on the end of this: SET A BOUNDARY. Or Leave.

BEING GASLIGHTED: If you feel discounted, dismissed, or accused of being "crazy, dramatic, emotional" etc. - you may be being gaslighted.

BEING THE GASLIGHTER: If you have difficulty with effective communication during conflict, and shut down the dialogue with any of the statements in the image below, you may be gaslighting.

HERE IS A WAY TO GAUGE IF YOU NEED SUPPORT:

If you are the common denominator, on either side of gaslighting (either you are constantly seeing all/most partners as a gaslighter OR you are the one that has said things like this to all/most of your partners): TAKE A LOOK AT YOURSELF. It might be a blind spot that needs to be brought into your awareness and healed.
