Happy sunny Friday! This week on TRM, we are joined by Certified Nutrition Specialist, Abby King. In this episode, Abby tells us all about the gut-brain connection. She explains how the food that we eat, our eating habits, and our mentality around food all have a direct impact on our gut and brain health. Abby takes a holistic and personalized approach in her work and that really shows in this episode. She emphasizes the importance of nervous system regulation, finding a balanced diet that works for you, and using evidence-based practice as a guide, not the “be-all end-all”. Abby also introduces some foods that have been scientifically proven to improve mental health symptoms (how cool)! This conversation is very informative, practical, and relevant for anyone who eats food! Be sure to follow us on social media & .king and don't forget to rate, review, and subscribe to the show on whatever platform you're listening on!

That’s my girl!

So what is a CNS anyways?

CNS stands for certified nutrition specialist. This is the certification I received after finishing:

-master of science in nutrition and integrative health
-1000 hours of practice in the field by a BCNS approved supervisor (thanks )
-passing the CNS examination

There is a lot of confusion around what a nutritionist even is so I want to provide clarity about my educational background and how that has prepared me to provide the best care possible to YOU!

DM me to book a discovery call!✨

Hi all!

I’m in the process of creating a self paced course for all basics of healthspan, longevity and anti-inflammatory nutrition/lifestyle but I want feedback to make it the best it can possibly be!

If you know anyone or you yourself would be interested in taking the course for a discounted rate and providing feedback throughout the process. Please feel free to email me at abby@blisspointnutrition.com if you or someone you know might benefit!

Have a great weekend!

Application is the hardest part of creating a healthy lifestyle.

Hear me out, it is SO easy to show up to an appointment with a nutritionist, ND, coach etc., it’s doing the nitty gritty work in between that is the challenge.

I’ve seen time and time again when people are given a meal plan or dietary guidelines by a practitioner and expected to follow them with no explanation as to how. Imagine finding out you are celiac and having to switch to a gluten free diet, not having known what gluten was the day before.

There is a disconnect between heathy eating and healthy cooking.

This is something I focus on with clients (if it is an area they need support in). Healthy eating becomes a diet when the food doesn’t taste good because you aren’t enjoying it. When you learn the foundations, it is much easier to shift your lifestyle and your cooking style permanently. This is where nutrition becomes a habit rather than a short term quick fix.

This is the real and true bliss point✨

“Orange” chicken, roast purple cabbage, brown rice, chili lime broccolini, home made kimchi

Comment what recipes you’d like to see!

Bliss Point Nutrition is now accepting clients! I work with clients 1:1 and in group settings.

The 1:1 is a deep dive into root cause health issues and involved a individually tailored protocol as well as constant support and accountability the whole way throught!

The first group session starts mid-march (date TBD) includes all the basics of an anti-inflammatory diet and lifestyle and focuses on helping clients increase their health span! We will talk nutrition, sleep, mental health, exercise and environment as well as providing support around healthy cooking and eating.

If you think you or someone you know would be a great fit for either of these formats. Click the link below to book your FREE discovery call!
