Bleeding while brushing your teeth might seem like a small issue, but it’s actually not normal. Healthy gums shouldn’t bleed during brushing or flossing. When gums bleed, it usually means they’re inflamed — a condition known as gingivitis, which is the earliest stage of gum disease. The tricky part is that gum disease can progress without pain, which is why many people ignore early warning signs like bleeding. But early action can prevent all of this. Regular brushing, flossing, and professional cleanings help stop the disease before it gets serious.
