Big Announcement: A New Chapter Begins

Hi everyone,
I wanted to share some important news with you. This Thursday, May 29th, will mark the end of an incredible era—I'll be leaving my practice in Mira Mesa.

For more than 28 years, I’ve had the honor and privilege of serving the Mira Mesa community. It’s been a truly rewarding experience, filled with unforgettable moments, amazing patients, and the evolving dedicated staff who made every day meaningful. The practice grew beyond anything I could have imagined, and for that, I’m deeply grateful.

Over seven years ago, I sold the practice to Total Vision and I wish them continued success. After a lot of reflection, I’ve decided it's time to move on. Though it wasn’t an easy decision, I believe it’s the right one—for my well-being and my happiness.

It’s a bittersweet moment. I’m excited for what’s ahead, but I can’t help feeling a little nostalgic as I look back on nearly three decades of memories. That said, change is a part of life—and it's time for a new beginning.

I want to thank all of my patients, every staff member I’ve worked with for making this journey so incredible and meaningful. I especially want to thank my wife and best friend Cyndi whom I never could have done it without. I will always carry these memories with me.

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving. Next year will mark our 25th year here in Mira Mesa and we wouldn't have made it this far without you our loyal patients. It is because of your incredible support that we made it through the most difficult of times and I am forever grateful. It is has been a privilege to have been entrusted with your eye care needs. As all of us are aware, many people have been negatively impacted by the pandemic. Mira Mesa Optometry Total Vision would like to extend a helping hand to our community. If you know of someone who is experiencing financial hardship you can nominate them to receive a complimentary eye exam and glasses through this charitable outreach program that we are participating in. Because of the circumstances surrounding Coronoavirus COVI-19 we are limiting our business hours to 9-2pm Monday through Thursdays. During these hours we will be available for pick ups of glasses and contact lenses and to provide emergency care services only. This unfortunately does not include routine eye exams. Emergency services are defined as:

Medical eye related emergencies – these include infections, abrasions or contact lens related complications such as corneal ulcers which could potentially harm your vision. Please see the announcements section of our website or here on this page to see a description of symptoms related to such conditions.

Emergency exams - for those in need of moderate to high corrections who have lost glasses, run out of contacts and are thus unable to function without them.

These are appointments limited so that we can maintain an occupancy of only 3 people in the office at a time. Exam time will be as time efficient as possible to keep exposure time down. Our doctor will be wearing the appropriate mask. These appointments must be pre-arranged.

We ask that you call ahead of time to arrange pick ups of materials and that all balances are paid upon delivery. Further adjustments must be postponed until these restrictions are lifted but unfortunately no time frame for that is yet available.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. This is a difficult and trying situation for all involved. We will do our best to provide as much care as we can.

Hello and I hope this message finds you well. The current situation has certainly caught us by surprise and it's easy to feel uneasy. I know we are all hoping to see things return to normal soon and they will. In the meantime I would like to assure you that we are taking extra measures to ensure the health and well being of our patients and our staff. I thought it would be helpful for you to see the steps and protocols we have implemented.

Even in these extra ordinary circumstances, your eye care is still important. I want you to know that our commitment to help and serve you is as strong as ever. We're here for you. My daughter asked me about LASIK after being accepted into the Peace Corps. She will be heading out for her assignment later this year. As you can imagine freedom from glasses and contacts would be advantageous for many reasons in her case. So as I do with all my patients I entrusted her to Dr. Parikh at Nvision. I have co-managed and sent my patients to Nvision for many years. Their professionalism, commitment to the patient’s welfare and dedication to having the best technology has kept me referring to them. Again, they did not disappoint. It’s because of them that my daughter now has perfect vision without correction and is ready to embark on her journey. Thank you Dr Parikh and staff at Nvision.
