When we designed the curriculum for our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training, one of the things we focused on was creating a structure that would provide consistency and continuity for the students, and that focus has paid many dividends. The regularity within the program gives our students a sense of ease around the format and topics we cover in training. They always know that during each weekend they will get to explore a number of yoga elements - asana, pranayama, meditation and philosophy - as well as have opportunities to practice teaching and learn about teaching methodology.

We also considered the reality of maintaining work and life balance, so we created a program that runs on alternating weekends. Students always appreciate the time in between training weekends to integrate the information studied and process the experiences of practice. The weekends off also allow the students to keep up with their other life obligations and pursuits with family and friends. One of our grads said our program was like taking mini yoga retreats every other weekend!

❤️ "The pacing was perfect. I loved how accessible it was for people working a 9-5 job. I thought it was a really perfect blend of the asanas, philosophy, pranayama, sequencing/theming - each weekend's schedule flowed really well, and I was never bored." ~2022 Grad

❤️ "Having the week in between to digest the weekend and then a week to prepare and get excited was great." ~2025 Grad

The program begins February 2026!

Getting to work with a seasoned teacher, or "mentor," is one of the highlights of yoga teacher training with Pilgrimage of the Heart and always stirs up some excitement among the trainees.

Students are paired with a teacher who works with them for eight hours over the course of the training, giving each student a chance to have personalized instruction throughout their journey. The support of a mentor during teacher training ensures that each student has a reliable resource for help with any and all aspects of the training.

Whether they assist with homework assignments, act as a sounding board for students to work through philosophical or methodological topics, or just share a cup of tea, the mentors are integral parts of the student experience, and often the student-mentor relationship lasts well beyond graduation.

We (and your future mentor) invite you to be a part of our 2026 Yoga Teacher Training.

Community always comes up as one of the favorite aspects of our Yoga Teacher Training program. The building of a cohort and a sense of connection to the larger community of Pilgrimage of the Heart is a big part of training with us.

We begin as a group of strangers gathering together in the East Room, and during that first workshop, filled with nerves and excitement, these people from all different walks of life, ages and backgrounds sit down to begin a journey of discovery and exploration. From that night of introductions though the end of our graduation, we work together to create and maintain a container of trust that allows each person to be vulnerable, to be seen, and to be their most authentic selves, and the community that we create often turns into one of lasting friendships and support.

We'd love for you to be part of our Yoga Teacher Training community.

Meet ✨️Karen O'Lone✨️ Through her work as a yoga teacher, personal trainer, and group exercise leader, she hopes to encourage better movement to foster a deeper sense of knowledge of the self- to connect the inner work with the outer work. In Yin Yoga, Karen emphasizes the use of extended time in a pose to guide the yogi to not only loosen adhesions in connective tissue, but also the adhesions of the mind. She strives to create a practice where people will feel more balanced, calm, and inspired to know that they are their own healer. When she is not teaching, working, or on her mat, Karen can be found playing in the kitchen, sinking into a good book, and spending time with both human and nonhuman friends.

You can practice with Karen when she teaches Yin: Deep Stretch on Saturdays at 10:00am, and when she leads the October 19th studio workshop, "Yin Yoga for Autumn: Breath, Release, and Renewal." Read on to learn more about Karen!

💚 What inspires your yoga practice?
The heart of my practice is the call to connect in a moment and to check in with how we exist as part of nature and community. I'll never lose my curiosity about how everything intersects into meaning, and the harmony gained through the deep work of yoga.

💚Who is someone you look up to and why?
I admire our yoga students for taking the time to create something better for themselves. Witnessing their openness to learning, practicing, and resting is inspiring. While we may guide them as teachers, our students truly make our community as open, robust, and compassionate as it is. It's a privilege to practice with them.

💚 Anything else you want students to know about you?
I want my students to know I see, value, and love them as they are, whether coming in for their first class or their 1000th plus. And, yes, when I don't see them for a long time, I miss them, think about them, and wish them well.
