Oh we are super grateful and excited about tomorrow. Jacob will receive his last session of radiation and will ring the bell 🔔

His treatment will continue, however this is a big step on this journey and definitely worth celebrating 🎉

Port accessing ✅

It’s been a week since our last updated.
Everything is still going smoothly. Jacob has only 4 more sessions to go and God willing he will be ringing the bell on Friday 🥳🎉

Such a blessing seeing Jacob doing so well and staying positive 🙌🏻

This week we will be enjoying a well deserved retreat with a beautiful foundation. I’ll share more pictures 🩵

Ha pasado una semana desde nuestra última actualización.
Todo sigue marchando bien. A Jacob solo le faltan 4 sesiones más y con el favor de Dios estará tocando la campana el viernes 🥳🎉

Es una gran bendición ver a Jacob tan bien y tan positivo 🙌🏻

Esta semana estaremos disfrutando de un muy bien merecido retiro con una hermosa fundación. Les estaré compartiendo más fotos 🩵

Day 13 of radiation ✅
Port access for this week ✅

After a beautiful weekend enjoying the sun, the sand and the water, it was time to go back to our daily routine. Jacob woke up super early yesterday and with the best attitude went in to get his port accessed and session 13 of radiation.

We have 9 sessions to go 🎉

Después de un hermoso fin de semana disfrutando el sol, la arena y el agua, era tiempo de regresar a nuestra rutina diaria. Jacob despertó muy temprano ayer y con la mejor actitud fue a que accesaran su puerto y a recibir la sesión 13 de radiación.

We’re half way through this part of treatment and Jacob still doing great.

We don’t expect to see lots of changes in him: maybe he’ll be a little tire, some redness on the skin but nothing her and we pray it continues that way 🙏🏻

We have 10 more sessions to go 💪🏻
Please continue praying for Jacob 🤍

Ya vamos a la mitad de esta parte del tratamiento y Jacob está excelente.

No espéranos ver muchos cambios en él: quizá estará un poco cansado, un poco de irritación en su piel pero no hay señales de nada de eso y oramos para que continúe así 🙏🏻

Days 6 and 7 of radiation ✅
Port access for this new week ✅

Day 8 of radiation in progress …

Jacob has received 7 sessions of radiation out of 22. He’s doing amazing, staying active, eating well, and with a great attitude.

During the weekend his port was deaccessed and he was able to enjoy 2 birthday parties from his friends at school, and got some pool time at his greatgrandm’s house 🏊

Today’s port accessing went as smooth as it could go. Jacob amazes me everyday 🥹 he’s amazing! 🤍✨

He’s now in his 8th session of radiation.

14 more to go… 🙏🏻

Jacob ha recibido 7 sesiones de radiación de 22.
Él está muy bien, manteniéndose activo, comiendo bien y con una gran actitud.

Durante el fin de semana su puerto fue desaccesado y pudo disfrutar de dos fiestas de cumpleaños de sus compañeritos de la escuela, y hasta se metió a la alberca en casa de su bisabuelita 🏊

El acceso del puerto de esta semana fue todo un éxito. Jacob no deja de sorprenderme 🥹 él es maravilloso 🤍✨

Ahorita está recibiendo la 8va sesión de radiación.

Days 4 and 5 of radiation ✅

These past days have been easy, Jacob’s energy levels are still high, he’s getting used to the routine and taking the time to play with friends whenever there’s a chance.

The amount of radiation sessions Jacob will get has changed. Instead of 20 sessions he will be getting 22 🙏🏻

Pleas continue praying for Jacob as he advances in his radiation treatment 🙏🏻🤍

Estos días han sido fáciles, los niveles de energía de Jacob aún son altos, se está acostumbrando a la rutina y esta aprovechando cada momento que tiene para jugar con amigos.

Day 3 of radiation and port access ✅

Jacob truly did amazing!
Yesterday we practiced the cleaning and accessing of his port with his Aflac duck. I explained he would have to go through that process today. He asked some questions and then moved on.

This morning the process of getting his port accessed went smoothly, better than expected 🙏🏻🤍 he was so brave and patient. He’s such a trooper 💪🏻

And just like that we’ve tackled 3 out of 20 sessions of radiation. 17 more to go 🙌🏻🎉

Jacob realmente lo hizo increíble!
Ayer practicamos la limpieza y acceso de su puerto con el pato de Aflac. Le expliqué que el tendría que pasar por ese proceso hoy. Me hizo preguntas y luego continuó con lo suyo.

Esta mañana el proceso de accesar el puerto fluyó mucho mejor de lo esperado 🙏🏻🤍 Jacob fue muy valiente y paciente. Es todo un guerrero 💪🏻

Y así hemos completado 3 sesiones de 20. Solo nos faltan 17 🙌🏻🎉

Days 1 and 2 of radiation ✅

This trooper took it like a champ. He hesitates when the nurses need to use his port, but once we explain what they will do, he helps them out.

His port has been officially named “Cucú A A” 🤍 (don’t ask me why! 🤭)

The port was deaccessed for the weekend, which means 2 things: Jacob will have a good weekend without having to worry about the line hanging from his chest, however it will have to be accessed on Monday for treatment 🥹🙏🏻

Este guerrero lo hizo como todo un campeón. Se pone dudoso cuando las enfermeras necesitan usar su puerto, pero una vez que le explicamos lo que harán, el mismo las ayuda.

Su puerto ha sido oficialmente llamado “Cucú A A” (no me pregunten porqué 🤭)

El puerto ha sido removido durante el fin, lo cual significa dos cosas: Jacob podrá disfrutar el fin de semana sin preocuparse de la línea en su pecho, pero el lunes tendrán que accesarlo de nuevo para continuar el tratamiento 🥹🙏🏻

Esperamos que todos tengan un hermoso fin de semana 🤍🙏🏻

Hello 🥰

Today is Jacob's lumbar puncture. He is out of the OR and sleeping 🙏

Today's appointment had been smooth, he came to the hospital with the promise of "no pokes" since he already has the port. The nurses had to deaccess/reaccess the port but they worked with the anesthesiologist to give anesthesia through the mask and then do the process when Jacob was already asleep.

Big shoutout to the HemOnc nurses working in the clinic; they are angels!

Now we just wait for Jacob to wake up, then we take him home 🤍

Hoy es la puncion lumbar de Jacob. Ya salio del quirofano y esta durmiendo 🙏

La cita de hoy ha estado tranquila, llegó al hospital con la promesa de "no pokes" ya que ya tiene el puerto. Las enfermeras tuvieron que desacceder/volver a acceder al puerto pero trabajaron con la anestesióloga para administrar la anestesia a través de la máscara y luego realizar el proceso cuando Jacob ya estaba dormido.

Un gran agradecimiento a las enfermeras de HemOnc que trabajan en la clínica; ¡son ángeles!

Ahora solo esperamos a que Jacob despierte y luego lo llevamos a casa 🤍

It’s a new week and we’re ready for it 💪🏻

Jacob’s port insertion is today. They port will be left accessed hoping it’ll cause less anxiety on Jacob when we go in for the lumbar puncture on Wednesday.

Please pray for our sweet baby boy as he starts this week and gets ready for the procedures 🙏🏻🤍
