San Diego Physical Therapy (SDPT) is a one-of-a-kind clinic that takes a comprehensive, whole body approach to patient care. Our goal is to restore function in our patients' daily activities by improving mobility, stability and strength. In an effort to individualize each session to our patients and their needs, SDPT provides one-to-one patient care and uses Applied Functional Science, which incorporates environmental, biological and psychological factors to improve overall quality of life. Each treatment session consists of therapeutic activities designed to mimic daily activities, sports or other activities the patient wishes to return to. In addition to providing rehabilitative services, SDPT also focuses on prevention and wellness to help our patients avoid future injury.

Can anyone else relate?! 🤣

The truth is you have to keep moving, MOTION IS LOTION! 💪🏻 whether it’s a walk, yoga, stretching, meditation or a high intensity workout 🏋️‍♀️ the name of the game is MOVEMENT!

This doesn’t mean push through pain, maybe your movement needs help, seek the right practitioner to improve the way you move!!

Tight Pecs, here you go!!

This muscle has a hard task fighting gravity all day while you sit at your computer. It can also get tight as we have increased stress and anxiety wanting to just curl up in the fetal position. It’s time to OPEN UP!!! 💪🏻

Hamstrings 🦵🏼.....3 muscles that bend the knee and extend the thigh/hip. They attach to the bottom of your pelvis and may cause faulty posture if too tight!

This stretch can help with:
*low back pain
*sciatica
*posture
*flexibility
*running mechanics
*walking mechanics
*jumping, hopping

Calf stretch! The Gastrocnemius and Soleus to get fancy! 🤓

Dynamic stretching is useful for your muscles to react to movement.

My favorite analogy is with a rubber band. Think about maintaining a stretch on that rubber band vs pulling and then relaxing, pulling then relaxing overtime the rubber band will be stretched out but will be able to react within the range you stretched it! 🤯

Stretching the calf can help with:
*foot and ankle pain
*low back pain
*plantar fasciitis
*running mechanics
*balance
