As a trauma-informed child therapist, I utilize EMDR therapy (eye movement desensitization therapy) to treat mental health issues resulting from trauma. This a safe and effective therapy for children and adolescents who have been through traumatic events or circumstances. Today I completed an advanced EMDR training for emergency response to victims of human and natural disaster such as a hurricane, school shooting, or a refugee crisis. It was an honor learning from Dr. Nacho Jarero.

Coming from a family of immigrants, I experienced the family stressors and witnessed the endless hoops that needed to be jumped to obtain legal status. That is why I am passionate about what I do. Think about this - is it possible the anxiety or depression you or a loved one are experiencing is related to your parents or ancestors trauma? Sometimes family stories have been deeply rooted in us by frequent retelling of the strong events lived by a family member. Or how about that secret story that no one in the family is “allowed” to talk about? As an EMDR therapist, I have been able to witness people heal from intergenerational trauma and improve their outlook on life. Thoughts, comments, questions - feel free to reach out!
