This past Wednesday, our residents went on an adventure to the March Field Air Museum in Riverside where they enjoyed exploring all of the many exhibits the museum had to offer! From busts of courageous pilots, paintings of decorating war heroes to full-fledged aircrafts, the museum was an incredibly educational and awe-inspiring experience. Following the museum, the residents stopped in at the Smoke & Fire Social Eatery where they were treated to massive helpings of delicious BBQ style food!

This past Tuesday, we proudly celebrated the promotions of three incredible women on our Management Team!

Jessica Swaaley, formerly our Business Office Manager/HR, has stepped into her new role as Executive Director.

Tatijana Garilovic, previously our Administrative Assistant, is now our Business Office Manager/HR.

Venessa Walker, once our Activity Assistant, has been promoted to Administrative Assistant.

We hosted a wonderful celebration in their honor and invited our residents to join in the excitement; what a joy it was to share this special moment together!

Silvergate Rancho Bernardo residents recently enjoyed a wonderful outing to The Landings Restaurant! With front-row views of planes taking off and landing, the group was treated to both a delicious meal and an unforgettable experience.

Laughter, great conversation, and incredible cuisine made for the perfect afternoon. There’s nothing quite like dining with a view, and this one truly soared above the rest!

Happy 108th Birthday, Betty Haver!

Silvergate Rancho Bernardo had the absolute honor of celebrating Betty’s 108th birthday with a fantastic party in our dining room, surrounded by her loving friends and family.

Betty is known as 'the' oldest and most devoted Padres fan, and her favorite team made sure to make her day even more special! She received an amazing gift bag filled with goodies, including a signed baseball (believed to be signed by Trevor Hoffman!), a Padres jersey, a gift card, a foam finger, and a Tatís Jr. bobblehead. Talk about a home run celebration!

The joy didn’t stop there; Betty was also joined by her dear friends Pat and Theresa from Arcadia Place, making the day even more meaningful as they celebrated together. Betty also met our other ladies who have turned 101 and 100 within the past couple weeks, Carol and Jeanne! What an amazing milestone these three lovely ladies have hit! Its not every day you meet someone who is 100+ years young, let alone three of them at once!

Here’s to 108 wonderful years of memories, laughter, and Padres pride. We are so lucky to celebrate such an inspiring woman!

This past Sunday, we had the absolute joy of celebrating an incredible milestone—Carol Ulrey’s 101st birthday! What a blessing it is to honor another wonderful lady who has experienced over a century of cherished memories.

Surrounded by her loving friends and family here at Silvergate Rancho Bernardo, Carol enjoyed a delightful afternoon filled with laughter, love, and celebration. Guests were treated to her favorites—delicious chocolate cake, sparkling champagne, and of course, a special photo opportunity with the guest of honor herself!

Not only was the band phenomenal but who could pass up a complimentary performance by our very own active duty military men and women from right here in San Diego County!

What a special Padres Opening Day Celebration in our Memory Suites Building!

Residents gathered to cheer on the San Diego Padres alongside an incredible guest of honor; the wonderful Betty Haver, who is turning 108 years young this April!

Betty has been a devoted Padres fan since the early 1980s, and there was no better way to kick off the season than with her own Opening Day watch party surrounded by family, friends and neighbors. She recounted having celebrated spending her 100th birthday with the Padres Cheerleaders!

The room was filled with excitement and plenty of team spirit as everyone came together to celebrate both baseball and Betty's amazing milestone.

We were also thrilled to welcome Ryan Hill from KGTV Channel 10 News, who stopped by to interview Betty and help share her incredible story with the community!

Here's to a fantastic season ahead and to Betty whose love for the game continues to inspire us all!

Silvergate Rancho Bernardo was filled with joy this past month as we celebrated an extraordinary milestone; Jeanne Rayburn's 100th Birthday!

Surrounded by friends and family, Jeanne marked this special occasion with a beautiful gathering in her honor. The lobby was filled with warmth, laughter and sounds of live piano music, graciously performed by fellow resident, Mary Leitner.

Guests enjoyed delightful slices of lemon cake while sharing in the celebration of a life so wonderfully lived.

Our residents were up to their usual shenanigans again; and this time, with a festive Irish twist!

We kicked off the celebration with the incredible sounds of bagpiper Pipe Major Charles Rosenberger, who filled the community with beautiful Irish medleys that truly set the tone for the day.

Following his performance, our amazing Culinary and Dining Services team, led by Executive Chef Brittany Contreras and Food & Beverage Director Jennifer Imanil, outdid themselves with a delicious spread of authentic Irish cuisine.

As residents enjoyed their meals, the energy kept building with live music in Dave's Bar from the highly rated Highland Way Band. Before long, residents were hurrying to finish their plates so they could hit the dance floor!

What a fabulous celebration from start to finish! A huge thank you to all the staff who helped bring this unforgettable St. Patrick's Day to life!

A very special milestone was celebrated this past weekend as John Washburn turned 90 years young! To mark the occasion, John and his family hosted a wonderful birthday bash in the banquet room, inviting all his friends and neighbors to join in the celebration.

Residents, friends and family gathered to share in the festivities. The room was filled with music, laughter and warm camaraderie as everyone came together to wish John a very happy birthday. It was truly heartwarming to see so many people turn out to celebrate such a remarkable occasion.

No birthday celebration would be complete without something sweet, and guests were treated to a delicious carrot cake from Jessie's Bakery.

Silvergate Rancho Bernardo residents enjoyed a fantastic evening out at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido to watch the renowned U.S. Army Field Band perform. The band delivered an inspiring performance filled with patriotic favorites and powerful musical arrangements that had the audience captivated throughout the night. Residents had a wonderful time sharing the experience together and appreciating the incredible talent of the musicians in such a well-established venue in the heart of Escondido.

Residents in our Memory Suites recently enjoyed a wonderful armchair travel experience to the beautiful country of Vietnam!

During the journey, residents learned fascinating facts about Vietnam’s currency, language, traditional fashion, and rich cultural traditions. To make the experience even more immersive, residents were treated to a taste of Vietnamese cuisine, giving everyone the chance to explore the flavors of the culture while learning about the country.

Traveling the world doesn’t always require a suitcase; sometimes all it takes is curiosity, good company, and a delicious bite to eat!
