The Center for Men's Excellence

The Center for Men's Excellence Founded by Dr. Dan Singley, CME psychologists provide evidence-based interventions for men, couples, children and families.

CME therapists work with clients who seek to improve their quality of life, with a particular focus on men, couples, families and children aged 8 and up. Clients take part in scientifically-supported psychotherapy treatments to more effectively manage a variety of issues including anxiety, stress, and depression. By learning to apply well-researched psychological techniques, clients are able to experience considerably higher quality of life and long-lasting relief from their concerns. The Center for Men's Excellence is also home to dad-focused parenting classes called Basic Training for New Dads. In addition to these dads classes, Dr. Singley also provides counseling for new dads and couples interested in keeping their newly-expanding family as strong as it can be even in the midst of adjusting to life with a new baby.

Expectant fathers enjoy an informal, hands-on class that provides practical information and a real boost of confidence about handling the baby's impending arrival.

Participants connect with other expectant dads, and also have the opportunity to talk with a “veteran dad” who has been through the class and brings his infant with him to the class. Dads-to-be get to hear directly from the new dad about his experience and practice diapering, swaddling, soothing, and burping the baby.

Fatherhood comes with a lot of pressure, and many dads feel like they have to carry it alone. Therapy can provide a space to talk openly, manage stress, and navigate the challenges that come with being a father.

Taking care of your mental health doesn’t make you a weaker dad. It helps you show up stronger for yourself and your family.

About 1 in 7 men ages 16–34 report having engaged in self-harm.
That’s not rare. And it’s not a personal failure.

Self-harm is often a sign that someone is trying to cope without enough support.
Help doesn’t have to wait for things to get worse.

If this resonates with you, reaching out can be the first step toward safer ways to cope.

As the seasons change, our moods don’t always shift as smoothly as the weather.
If something feels off it’s worth paying attention to.

You don’t need a label or a crisis to seek therapy.
Sometimes support is about understanding what your mind is asking for during a period of change.
