Your hormones are like a consistent, supportive environment… so time zone changes, redeye’s and new routines are the perfect storm 🌪️ to create some hormonal chaos.
So here’s how to support your hormones while traveling
1 - always book a hotel or guesthouse with a buffet breakfast so you can eat within 30 minutes of waking up.
Do this even if you’re a foodie like me and you’re gonna go out for a nicer breakfast eventually. Now I dare you to show up in your cutie pjs like I did this morning.
2 - get on the local time zone asap
Do what you need to do to support sleep. For me that includes sound machine, eye mask and ear plugs. Plus I love this supplement that has a little melatonin (5 gr) with some herbs so my nervous system is calm AF.
Don’t have access to supplements - try some box breathing or lay down with your legs elevated against the wall to help you relax. And don’t reach for your phone.
3 - minimize exposure to artificial scents
These are straight up hormonal villains - they show up on the toxin tests I run for clients who have acne, tummy issues and low energy. These endocrine disrupters silently interfere with the communication between your brain and cells.
So cover your nose and open up the windows if your uber has a forest of scented trees hanging from the review mirror. Pack your own natural soaps. Unplug the pluggins at the Airbnb and toss them outside.
Bonus - trying eating a few liver supporting foods a day. Dark leafy greens, cabbage, broccoli, artichokes, asparagus, beets, onions, garlic and eggs. Your liver is responsible for creating and excreting hormones so it should always get a little extra love. 🤍
Small adjustments can help you feel your best, even when you’re away from home.
