Capitol Hill Day 2026! 🏛️🩺

This past week, Renee advocated alongside hundreds of other Physical Therapists across the country, for better practice and payment policies for our industry.

Legislation needs to hear directly from those in the field to understand why policy changes are important! Medicare cost reform, student loans, and expanding access to medically underserved areas, were amongst many topics covered.

The Annual FunctionSmart Pumpkin Contest is officially underway.

Successful Tri Kick Off Party yesterday with and ! 🎈🎉

You all came with great questions and it was inspiring to see so many motivated athletes ready to kick off the season with a bang! 💥

Join us! This Sunday, March 30th at Ski Beach in Mission Bay for the Tri Kick Off Party! 🥳

It’ll be an exciting day where you can learn all about the sport of triathlon, make new friends, and kick off the season with a bang! 💥

FunctionSmart staff members will be in attendance for an informative talk about injury prevention and ways to keep you in top shape for your triathlon journey. We may be heading into off-season, but isn’t that the time to start thinking about next year?! If you were thinking about the CAF Tri next year, we highly encourage it. 🏊‍♂️🚴🏼‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️

We raced as a relay team…though there are talks of racing independently against each other next year 😏, and had a blast. If you’re thinking about getting into Tri or a seasoned pro, it’s a great event to get you inspired and motivated about the sport.

Finished how we started! Just maybe a tad sweatier… 😅

The Best Day in Tri: a name that upholds its meaning. We had a blast racing as a team amongst athletes of all levels and capabilities! To the familiar faces we saw out there, it was great to see you, and we hope to see more next year. Thank you all for your donations in our fundraising efforts. It was truly an inspiring event to be a part of and a wonderful community to support.

To help raises awareness and support the foundation, we have put together two teams to race in The Best Day in Tri: CAF’s San Diego Triathlon Challenge. On this day athletes of all levels and capabilities come together to race and support each other across the finish line!

Many individuals with physical disabilities are limited in an active lifestyle due to lack of resources, necessary support crew, and high expense of adaptive sports equipments. CAF works to empower these individuals to participate in sports by helping provide the necessary support and equipment they need to get involved!
