🌈✨ Rainbow Connection Kickoff Launch Party ✨🌈

We were thrilled to welcome over 50 residents, staff team members, family members, and friendsto the kickoff launch of Rainbow Connection, our new LGBTQ+ group at Wesley Palms! The energy, warmth, and support in the room made this first gathering truly special.

Rainbow Connection was created to celebrate and support our LGBTQ+ residents, allies, staff, families, and friends, and to provide a welcoming space for connection, conversation, and community. Through regularly scheduled gatherings—featuring guest speakers, shared stories, music, and special visitors—we look forward to building a space rooted in inclusion, safety, joy, and belonging.

A special thank you to our musical guests, The Mixed Bags, who had us tapping our toes, dancing, and singing along. They helped make the afternoon a truly fun and joyful celebration! 🎶💃🕺

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make our launch such a meaningful success. This is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to continue growing together and creating a community where everyone feels truly at home. 💙

At Wesley Palms in San Diego, our residents proudly honor the incredible team members who make our community such a warm and welcoming place to call home, by contributing to the Employee Appreciation Fund each year—a holiday tradition that the employees and their families are truly grateful for.

Residents and team members gathered in the Dining Room to enjoy light refreshments, warm conversations, and heartfelt gratitude shared for the staff who keep our community thriving. As part of this celebration, our wonderful employees also brought homemade desserts for the residents—a sweet token of their appreciation and connection to the community.

We had an incredible Thanksgiving celebration here at Wesley Palms in San Diego! This year, we welcomed over 100 guests in addition to serving our 350+ wonderful residents at our festive Thanksgiving buffet brunch.

The room was filled with joy, delicious food, and the warmth of family and community. We are truly grateful for our amazing residents and their families who make Wesley Palms such a special place to call home. ❤️

Another unforgettable evening with our Director of Dining Services and Chef, Roger, leading our monthly wine tasting course! This month’s spotlight: Malbec — and what a journey it was.
Roger guided residents through the history of this beloved varietal, exploring its rich flavors, bold tannins, and the subtle layers that make each Malbec unique. From vineyard origins to tasting techniques, everyone walked away with a deeper appreciation for the art (and joy!) of wine.
Sipping, learning, and sharing great conversation… it’s nights like these that make community life something truly special.

What’s better than lifelong learning? Learning from the incredible residents who make our community so vibrant.
This week at Wesley Palms, our very own resident and Jewish History Professor Emeritus, Lawrence, led a fascinating continuing education course titled “Jews Meeting Non-Jews on the Silver Screen.”
Professor Lawrence guided the group through an exploration of Jewish representation in film and sparked meaningful conversation as he presented and discussed “Like a Bride” (Dir. Guita Schyfter, Mexico, 1993).
Moments like these remind us what community is all about—sharing passions, expanding perspectives, and learning from one another’s lifelong experiences. 💛
