CCCE is a training facility operated by San Diego State University which provides hands-on education for graduate students in the Masters degree programs in the Department of Counseling and School Psychology. Counsel

ing services are provided by pre-licensed trainees in the fields of Marriage and Family Therapy and Community-based Counseling. -applying established as well as cutting-edge clinical theory and practice
-supporting intervention and prevention services for individuals, couples, and families

Manasvi Sridhar and Janhavi Shah, trainees at SDSU’s Marriage and Family Therapy program, immigrated to the US as international students, 15 years ago and 1 year ago, respectively. (SWIPE RIGHT FOR THE FLYER)

Together, they’ve got a trove of experience on the challenges Desi international students face, and a strong sense for how to acclimate to living in a new country.

Are you a South Asian looking to better understand your identity? Connect with fellow Desis? Join their community support group for Desis. International students, first and second-generation immigrants, all welcome.

Our first meeting is Friday @10 am, March 20, 2026 at North Education 168. Can’t wait to see you there!

This Black History Month, we honor the Black mental health pioneers who paved the way for culturally responsive, community-centered care.

From challenging harmful narratives to advocating for equity in treatment, their work reminds us that healing is powerful and representation matters. These are just a few of the many who have contributed to this legacy.

Because mental health care should see you, hear you, and honor your lived experience.

Black History Month is more than a reflection on the past — it’s a recognition of resilience, culture, and the ongoing pursuit of equity.

The historical and present-day realities faced by Black communities — including systemic racism, discrimination, and economic disparities — have real impacts on mental and emotional well-being.

This month, we honor both the legacy of those who paved the way and the importance of prioritizing mental health today.

By breaking stigma, advocating for culturally competent care, and creating space for open conversations, we can build a future rooted in healing and empowerment.

If you or someone you know is seeking support, organizations like Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective (BEAM) and Therapy for Black Girls offer culturally informed resources and therapist directories.

Healing is community work. You are not alone.

Happy Friday everyone, you made it through the week!

Valentine’s day may be over but February in general can bring up a range of emotions — joy, longing, grief, hope, uncertainty. However you’re feeling, it makes sense.

If love has felt complicated before, your boundaries and caution are not weaknesses. They are protective strengths.

Healthy connection isn’t about perfection. It’s about safety, respect, and mutual care.

This week, we’re honoring love that feels steady — in romantic relationships, friendships, chosen family, and community.

You deserve care that feels safe. 🩷
