For many, a bipolar diagnosis brings both fear and relief. Fear of the unknown, and relief that what you’ve felt has a name. When people share their stories, like Selena Gomez has, it helps others see that understanding your mind is the beginning of hope, control, and a healthier future. 💚✨

Sometimes, the best kind of support doesn’t come from words. Pets have a way of sensing when we’re struggling, offering comfort through quiet presence, soft purrs, or a wagging tail. They remind us to slow down, breathe, and take life one moment at a time. 🐾 💚

International Bipolar Foundation (IBPF), formerly known as California Bipolar Foundation, was founded in June 2007 in San Diego, California by four parents with children affected by bipolar disorder. Well aware of the trauma that bipolar disorder causes for consumers and their families, these parents felt compelled to do something constructive to help.
IBPF is made up of a founding Executive Committee, a Scientific Advisory Board, Honorary Board, Advisory Council and a Consumer Advisory Council. Agency committees include the Finance Committee, Marketing Committee, Development Committee, Governance Committee and Programs Committee.
Our mission is to empower individuals living with bipolar disorder and their caregivers by providing advocacy, education, support, and awareness—fostering a caring community and stigma-free world where mental health is equitably acknowledged and treated.
We envision wellness, dignity and respect for people living with bipolar disorder, and a world free of mental health stigma.
