Most people don’t realize this, but sound healing actually influences your brainwaves. 🧠 ✨ It’s really so cool. Let’s break down the science:
First of all, the patterns your brain moves through depend on how you’re feeling. When you’re stressed or overstimulated, you’re in a higher-frequency “beta” state (constant planning, overthinking, and mental chatter).
During a sound bath, the slow, repetitive tones help guide your brain into slower states like alpha and theta—the ones associated with deep relaxation, creativity, and that dreamy, meditative feeling. That’s why it can often feel like you’re floating somewhere between awake and asleep during a sound bath.
You’re not just relaxing—you’re literally shifting your internal state. When your brain relaxes, your body does too.
This creates room for your body to actually reset: your stress hormones decrease, your nervous system calms down, and your mind finally gets a break from the noise. It’s rare for us to actually take intentional time to slow down (besides sleeping), and sound baths are the best way to optimize a period of rest.
It’s also why people leave a sound bath feeling clearer, lighter, and more grounded. You give your body access to something it doesn’t always reach on its own. 🧘🏻♀️💖
