Happy Earth Day! 🌎 Since our opening in 2019 we have only used biodegradable prescription vials which completely break down into organic matter within 3 years. Catherine Hunziker is a Master Herbalist, environmental activist, and the owner and chief formulator of WishGarden Herbs, a company she acquired in 1987. Her journey into herbalism began in the 1970s during the “back to the land” movement, where she lived off the land in the Ozarks and developed a deep connection with plants. She furthered her knowledge by studying under renowned herbalists such as Feather Jones and Michael Moore, and exploring cross-cultural indigenous traditions through institutions like the Naropa Institute.

In Boulder, Colorado, Catherine co-founded the Rocky Mountain Herbalist Coalition, advocating for ethical wildcrafting practices, which later influenced the establishment of the United Plant Savers, an organization dedicated to herb sustainability.

Catherine founded The Herbiculture Project in 2020, a non-profit organization focused on supporting domestic regenerative herb farming and sustainable medicinal plant cultivation. She continues to be a thought leader in the herbal industry, emphasizing sustainability and community education in her endeavors.
Her dedication to the field was further recognized in 2023 when WishGarden Herbs received the NBJ Supply Chain Integrity Award, highlighting her commitment to transparency and quality in herbal product sourcing.
