Honored to have been invited to speak at HealthFest at UCSD. Thank you, Sai Gundavelli.
Our mouth is a true window to our overall health, a mirror reflecting what is happening inside the body every second.
Oral health is not about brushing your teeth twice a day or visiting the dentist twice a year. It is about respecting the brilliant intelligence of the human body, nature's original biotechnology, by avoiding habits that sabotage it: brushing too hard, chasing "whiteness" with corrosive toothpaste, or disrupting the oral microbiome that keeps us alive and well.
True oral health is systemic health. The mouth connects to our gut, brain, and longevity pathways. This conversation belongs not only in dentistry but in medicine, neuroscience, and behavioral health.
Grateful to have joined this thought-provoking panel with:
Manish Sheth, MD, PhD, Psychiatrist and Neurologist, Founder and President of Headlight Health, Anastasia Chemeritskaya, MD, MHA, Founder of Lyrana, ECFMG-certified physician and longevity concierge clinician pioneering personalized integrative medicine for women, Srividya Sunderamurthy, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at ColigoMed, building AI-driven platforms that streamline care coordination and delivery for providers and health systems.
Together, we explored how oral health, brain health, and longevity intersect and how our daily habits either nourish or erode that connection.
