๐Ÿซ Lip Training for Calm Breathing & Posture ๐Ÿ’จ

This simple exercise helps strengthen your lips and train healthy breathing patterns โ€” all key parts of orofacial myofunctional therapy!

๐Ÿ’‹ Lip Training: Builds endurance for closed-lip posture.
๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ Controlled Breathing: Improves awareness of airflow and muscle coordination.
๐Ÿ‘ƒ Nasal Breathing: Encourages breathing through the nose for proper oxygen exchange and oral rest posture.
๐Ÿ˜Œ Closed-Lip Posture: Supports jaw stability, balanced facial muscles, and better oral function.

Consistent practice can improve muscle tone, reduce mouth breathing, and enhance focus and calmness through breath control.

The best part of what we do?
The sweet babies we get to help! ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’™

From feeding difficulties to post-release healing, weโ€™re here to guide families through gentle, functional support โ€” virtually or in-office.

Itโ€™s never just about the procedure โ€” itโ€™s about helping each little one feed, breathe, and grow comfortably. ๐ŸŒฟ

Donโ€™t I look Lovely? ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜ญ

As a dedicated professional; I pride myself on sharing knowledge and helping patients near or far. As a mom who went through the exact same procedures for my littles, it's personal for me. I want to be the resource for moms/parents that I didnโ€™t have years ago.

Virtual education and assessments have come such a long way!

๐Ÿ“Œ FUNCTIONAL GAINS STILL NEED STRUCTURAL SUPPORT

Just because someone can do the exercisesโ€ฆ
doesnโ€™t always mean the structure is supporting them long-term.

โœ… Myofunctional therapy helps retrain the muscles
โš ๏ธ But if tight tissues (like a tongue or lip tie) are restricting movement, you may only get partial results. Which means structural support and release may still be necessary.

Thatโ€™s why collaboration is key.
When we combine functional therapy with structural release (when needed),
we unlock true progress.

๐Ÿ’ก Think function AND form โ€” together, theyโ€™re powerful.
This isnโ€™t about over-diagnosingโ€”
Itโ€™s about optimizing outcomes.

Your Tongue and Toes Are Connected ๐Ÿ‘…๐Ÿฆถ๐‹๐ˆ๐“๐„๐‘๐€๐‹๐‹๐˜!

Through a network called the deep front line (a myofascial chain), your tongue connects all the way to your toes. This anatomical pathway links:

โ€ข Tongue
โ€ข Diaphragm
โ€ข Pelvis
โ€ข Hip flexors
โ€ข Knees
โ€ข Ankles
โ€ข Toes

So what does that mean?

๐Ÿ’ฅ Poor tongue posture can affect:
โ€ข Posture and alignment
โ€ข Neck and jaw tension
โ€ข Breathing mechanics
โ€ข Core stability
โ€ข Even foot and gait issues!

This is why myofunctional therapy goes far beyond the mouthโ€”
Itโ€™s whole-body function from the inside out.

Letโ€™s start where it all begins:
๐Ÿ‘… The tongue.
๐Ÿ’จ The breath.
๐Ÿฆถ The base.

Myofunctional therapy isnโ€™t just for kidsโ€”
Itโ€™s a powerful tool for adults with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and other breathing issues at night.

By strengthening the muscles of the tongue, throat, and face, we can:
โœ”๏ธ Improve airway tone
โœ”๏ธ Reduce mouth breathing
โœ”๏ธ Encourage proper tongue posture
โœ”๏ธ Support better jaw & palate alignment

๐Ÿ”„ In combination with CPAP or oral appliances, myofunctional therapy may help reduce:
โ€ข Snoring
โ€ข Fragmented sleep
โ€ข Daytime fatigue
โ€ข Mouth dryness
โ€ข Teeth grinding

Weโ€™re not just managing symptomsโ€”
weโ€™re retraining function from the inside out.

๐Ÿ’ค Letโ€™s rebuild your airway, one muscle at a time.

๐Ÿซ Nasal Breathing โ€” The Bodyโ€™s Natural Filter

Why breathing through your nose is essential for health and development ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ READ BELOW!๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ

Mouth open = more than just a bad habit.
It can affect your posture, airway, and even facial growth.

Hereโ€™s why nasal breathing is so important:

๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ Filters and humidifies air before it reaches the lungs
๐Ÿง  Boosts oxygen absorption and brain function
๐Ÿ‘ƒ Activates nitric oxideโ€”which helps fight infection and improve circulation
๐Ÿ“ Supports proper jaw and facial development in kids
๐Ÿ’ค Reduces risk of snoring and sleep-disordered breathing

When we breathe through the nose, the tongue rests on the palate, helping shape the upper jaw and supporting good posture from the inside out.

๐Ÿ›‘ Mouth breathing can lead to:
โ€ข Long narrow faces
โ€ข Crowded teeth
โ€ข Forward head posture
โ€ข Poor sleep quality

Train the habit.
Breathe better.
Grow stronger.
