.rosenberg great post, reposting: “The multiplicity of potential readings is testimony to its vitality and to the capacity of ancient texts to continue to speak to us. What interests us, anew, is not what the prior of a monastery in India was actually thinking nearly two thousand years ago - that’s his business (or the business of historians). What interests us is the power of the ideas that emanate today from the lines he left; how these, enriched by generations of commentary, may open up new spaces of thought, intersecting with our culture and our knowledge. This is the meaning of culture: an endless dialogue that enriches us by feeding on experiences, knowledge and above all, exchanges”. Carlos Rovelli 156-157, Helgoland • Posted

Our Story

Micah Arsham, MS, L.Ac., is a licensed, board-certified acupuncturist in private practice in San Diego since 2013. Her office is located in BioMed Health Center in La Jolla, California. From 2016-18 she worked at Integrated Medical Centers in La Jolla, and from 2018-19 was the acupuncturist at the office of Seth Camhi, MD, at Synergy Specialists Medical Group, Inc. She has practiced acupuncture at UCSD's Owen clinic (2010) and at San Diego Hospice's Inpatient Care Center (2012). She completed a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2012, holds a Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) from Columbia University (2002), and has studied literature and philosophy at Princeton University (1996-2001). Micah received scholarships in 2011 and 2012 from the American-Chinese Culture and Education Foundation to study in China: in 2012, she pursued advanced clinical training at Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, in Shenyang, and at Zhen Qi Tang clinic, in Lanzhou.

As a clinician, Micah brings a keen attention to detail to her practice. Currently, Micah is enrolled in the NYC Kampo Institute’s two-year post-graduate program to study Japanese herbal medicine (Kampo). She has additional training in moxibustion with Junji Mizutani, and in acupuncture with Shoji Kobayashi; she has apprenticed with Dr. D**g Ji (San Diego, 2011-12) and Dr. Tan Sheng (Lanzhou, China, 2012). Micah was a teaching assistant at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine from 2013-15. She is a member of the California State Oriental Medical Association (CSOMA), and is certified in Clean Needle Technique through the NCCAOM. Micah's treatment style is influenced by Japanese acupuncture styles, her training in China in both hospital and outpatient settings, and by the classic texts and rich history of traditional East Asian medicine. Micah provides customized treatments that help manage pain, reduce stress, and awaken the body's innate capacity to heal.
