Do you have extra breastmilk or formula on hand and aren’t sure what to do with it? Consider donating! The UCSD Milk Bank is always searching for breastmilk donors and this is a great option for those with an over abundance of breastmilk. Contact the UC Health Milk Bank for more details. For formula donations, we recommend reaching out to the San Diego Food Bank, as formula is always a huge need in our community. ✨

Happy Monday! We are kicking off the week with a long-overdue introduction of our newest team member, Katie!
She is a DONA-certified postpartum doula, mama of 3, and has an original background in community development.
In Katie’s words, “I love building relationships and bringing people together. I decided to become a doula because I believe the postpartum period is a really important (but often overlooked) time in a family’s life. I have three beautiful children, and I love hiking and reading :).”
Welcome to the team, Katie! We are so excited to open up more availability to our clients with the growth of our team.

Happy February! It’s been a minute since we introduced ourselves, and as we continue to make our way into 2024 with renewed energy for growth and an active presence in the San Diego birthing and postpartum community, we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to say hello and welcome you to our page.

We are Sarah Burns and Rachael Oeffner, co-owners of Night and Day San Diego {and yes, identical twins too}. We are a sister owned practice offering support to pregnant and postpartum families. Our dynamic team of doulas and lactation consultants offer prenatal and postpartum care, supporting you and your family every step of the way. We want families to feel empowered and confident during this special season of life.

Creating a positive breastfeeding experience begins prenatally. Learning techniques for positioning and latch, how to identify signs your baby is “getting enough,” and how partners can help support feedings are just some of the topics we’ll cover in our FREE Introduction to Breastfeeding Class. Taught by Emma Milburn, MPH, IBCLC, clients will leave this class feeling confident about breastfeeding and with resources about where to find help if needed. We hope you’ll join us at one of our upcoming classes and share this with San Diego families expecting a little one between March and May. ✨

We work with such generous families and we are asked commonly where to donate extra goods. If you are looking to donate extra diapers or formula we highly recommend the San Diego food bank. For maternity clothes, strollers or that adorable outfit your little one grew out of in a blink of an eye, check out Birthline of San Diego. Both of these organizations are an immense resource to families in need in San Diego. We highly recommend supporting them in any way you can!
