Low AMH means ovarian reserve is reduced—so how we stimulate matters. In some patients, pushing very high medication doses can backfire and lead to a poorer response or compromise quality.

For background purposes, I was 39 with a prematurely low AMH of 0.5 when I started my IVF journey. I’d had a tubal ligation in my late 20s, because I was convinced I never wanted to have kids. ….

….Before my consultation, I was absolutely devastated and heartbroken, convinced that I had ruined my chances of ever being able to have a child with my husband. After my consultation with Dr. LeBlanc, I felt actual hope for the first time. She explained to me in detail what exactly mini-IVF was and how it worked. She was realistic, but she was so kind and compassionate, and she made me feel like all was not lost….. I’ll never forget the phone call I received from her letting me know that my one and only egg retrieval had yielded 2 euploid embryos (out of 5 total eggs retrieved), nor the call I received from her letting me know that the transfer was successful and my blood tests showed I was pregnant.

I am now 5 months pregnant, and I couldn’t be happier. Everyone I interacted with at Hanabusa was so kind and responsive. I literally never had a bad experience with anyone there. I really don’t feel like I would have received this level of care at another clinic, especially considering the experience I had at the first one I went to.
