We're proud to support our member DAP Health at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards.

Honoring former Palm Springs mayor Lisa Middleton, and featuring a performance by The Temptations, "The Chase" raises funds to support DAP Health's outstanding compassionate care for more than 88,000 people.

We had a powerful week in Washington, D.C. at the NACHC Policy & Issues Forum, joining HCP members and CHC leaders nationwide to advocate for stronger, more equitable primary care.
Over two days on Capitol Hill, we met with Congressman Raul Ruiz, MD, Congressman Mark Takano, Congressman Ken Calvert, Representative Mike Levin, Congressman Darrell Issa, Congressman Juan Vargas, Congressman Scott Peters, and Representative Sara Jacobs, as well as Senator Adam Schiff and Senator Alex Padilla, to advocate for sustained CHC funding, workforce investments, and policies that protect access to care for millions of Californians.

Thank you to National Association of Community Health Centers and California Primary Care Association for bringing advocates together and driving national momentum for community health!

Last week San Ysidro Health partnered with Covered California to host the Latina Border Health Forum, building on the legacy of the seven women who founded SYHC in 1969. The event was a reminder of just how powerful community partnership is in expanding access to care, especially for families navigating the border health system.

Powerful conversations happened in Washington last week as HCP’s VP of Government Affairs Timothy Fraser joined Senator Alex Padilla, Senator Adam Schiff, and partners from Neighborhood Healthcare, TrueCare, La Maestra Community Health Centers, California Primary Care Association, National Association of Community Health Centers, Community Health Association Inland Southern Region, Community Health Systems, Inc. and Clinicas de Salud del Pueblo DBA Innercare to advocate for community health center funding ahead of the January 30th CR deadline.

Congratulations to San Ysidro Health on expanding access to care in National City!

President and CEO Sparkle Barnes was proud to represent HCP at the ribbon cutting for San Ysidro Health's Macias Family Health Center, a facility that consolidates and expands two existing clinics in the area. The new center doubles the number of medical exam rooms for primary and dental care and introduces a behavioral health unit, a first for National City.
The first floor is home to San Diego PACE, providing comprehensive care and support for seniors, while the second floor offers FQHC services for the community. This new facility is expected to serve 20,000 residents annually and employing 200–250 staff members to deliver high-quality, community-centered care.

From chronic disease management and nutritional support to point-of-care translation services through Propio, this center represents a major step toward health equity in our region.

Community health centers play a critical role in expanding access to mental health services, reducing stigma, and supporting patients through prevention, early intervention, and integrated care approaches.

Community health centers play a vital role in ensuring patients receive timely cervical cancer screenings, HPV vaccinations, and compassionate, culturally responsive follow‑up care.
