PROTEIN. The building block of everyone’s body. When I see my clients for post op care after surgeries, I notice a difference in those who eat more protein vs those who do not.

If you want to know how much protein to eat, consider checking your “ideal weight” first. Do not treat it as hard science, it is a guideline at best ⬇️

https://planetcalc.com/35/

After discovering your number (mine is at 59) multiply it by 1-1.5.
There is your protein intake for the day.
That would be 59-88.5 grams of protein for me.

How many people are even near consuming that much? I doubt there are many. Hence difficulty in tissue repair, sagging skin on the body and face as we age, etc.

Just a thought 👋🏽

Love this strategy for constipation aka DETOX!!!
It’s simplicity, effectiveness, and value for money is unparalleled to anything I have come across recently. Challenged perhaps only by breathwork since it costs you nothing😁

National Library of Medicine talks about 2-27% of the world population having constipation. But I tell you I see a lot of people (mostly WOMEN) in my private bodywork practice come and mention not moving their bowels daily.

WHY SHOULD WE CARE?😎

Bowel movement (colon) is ONE of the main routes for detoxification, along with lymph, skin, lungs, and kidneys.

Hot water does wonders to aid in it.

Omg! I am impressed with this company’s products.
Berries, veggies, and fruits — encapsulated in pre-digested form to be consumed with a meal to get high quality nutrients fast!

OBSERVATION: I have only been doing it for a few days but I see the skin glow I have not seen before! I also see energy increase and better detoxification.

At 42, I am OK with the wrinkles I have😁
But what I am NOT OK with is the dull looking, sagging skin void of circulation. NA ha!

Most of us spend long hours sitting… and there is a price to pay! Lymph and venous blood pools in the lower body half, unable to easily find its way back to the heart for drainage.

While it is unlikely that we are going to sit less, there is a simple solution I have been using for myself and suggesting to others, my mom included. 😁

When we sit, gravity is acting against us — attracting all the fluids down; when we get up and squat, calf muscles act like a powerful pump against that attraction, propelling the venous blood and lymph UP towards the legs and into the major channels.

Sure, any exercise can help increase circulation. But what I see in reality is that most of us don’t exercise and during work hours we certainly are not doing any.

This solution is brilliant because you don’t need an equipment other than your own body weight and occasional door k***s! It is fast to do, so you can return to your zoom meeting, and it is fast acting!

❤️ Heart health: calf muscles are often called “secondary heart muscles.” Not only would you be helping your circulation, you are protecting your cardio vascular health!

Oh, and did I forget to mention your bottom and legs get toned too in the process?

Give this a go for a week or two: doing at least 20 squats a day (up to 100!).
You will be surprised how much stronger and lighter you feel! I find this exercises invaluable for seniors too — strength training using one’s own body weight — is gold!

And all you need is a minute of your time!

Attending a four day class for certified manual lymph drainage therapists and noticing how the lymphatic work is affecting my 42 year old face: while my wrinkles are still there (I earned every one of them!😁), my face has a glow even though I studied from 8am till 5pm and had to get up at 5.30am.

Also. The whole body feels LIGHT, GROUNDED, & STRONG — my favourite combo.

Nice to see the effects of the lymphatic work on my own system.❤️👌🏼

Inspired by today’s client session.

Massage, no matter how great and skilled it is, cannot counteract certain internal physiological issues.

Here is what I mean:

A client comes in with swollen and painful feet, neck and low back pain, spasms…

We work. She fidgets. We work more, she starts to readjust her body on the table. And that is where years of experience guide me…

—When was the last time you drank water today? - I ask.

—Oh, I have not. My toddler woke me up at 5am, I had a bit of green tea and that’s all I had.

😅😅😅

Mind you, it was 10am at that point.
So, she was awake for five hours and not a sip of water went into her systems..

Long story short. I had her drink three glasses of alkaline water during our 90 minutes together. We worked. She got up. No pain. Feeling great and light.

Stiff neck?
We all have it sometimes.

Try doing a self-help version of manual lymph drainage by tapping on these areas — left and right venous corners aka collarbones. It is there the entire body lymph flows into the large veins and once again becomes part of the blood circulation.

Why tapping? Because it is MOVEMENT, and movement moves lymph.

Check your neck range of motion after doing this GENTLE manoeuvre for at least a minute. Is it better?

Put 💜 if you find it helpful.

After attending a class on LYMPH taping for healthcare professionals, I have started using it in my sessions with post operative clients.

If curious what lymph taping is about, you may want to get this book to learn self administration of the tape. Not as easy as it looks but with patience and determination, you can get it going.

Soft or hard?

When it comes to bone strength and health, we need to stress them in order to grow them.

When it comes to face and teeth, the same rule applies… but have you noticed how much soft food — smoothies, soups, pasta — we eat???

As a result, we loose bone mass and our jaw line sag as we age.

One of the strategies to use is to chew! Literally.

If your food, unlike our ancestors who chewed the hard uncooked food for 4 hours a day, is soft and you like it this way, consider using a chewing gum like FALIM. It is hard, it is cheap (one gum costs 8 cents), and you do not need to graze them carrots all day long to strengthen your facial bones and to signal stem cells production.

NOTE: If you have jaw problems, this is not for you. Don’t aggravate the issue, fix it first.

HOW OFTEN: chew for 10 minutes a day, on each side of the jaw for symmetry. Not a panacea, but it just might define the jaw line and make your face toned.

Since movement moves lymph, this may enhance the lymphatic drainage in the face and neck as well.

Make sure you chew with your mouth CLOSED though.
