A note to patients scheduled for surgery regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19)

Due to the rapidly changing status of the COVID-19 pandemic, CPMC Davies Hospital and Sutter Health has ordered the postponement of all non-emergent surgery starting on Tuesday March 17, 2020. Neighboring health care systems Kaiser North West and the University of California, San Francisco have already cancelled all elective surgeries in anticipation of an influx of patients in need of emergent care from the novel coronavirus.

For patients scheduled for phalloplasty and surgery at CPMC Davies Hospital, we will have to cancel/reschedule your surgery. Please contact SFTI for further information and for reserving a future surgical date.

For patients scheduled for surgery at Surgery Centers who have April through June 2020 surgical dates, we offer rescheduling surgery now. Please contact us at your earliest convenience and let us know when you would like to be rescheduled. Later dates in 2020 will likely have a lower risk of needing further rescheduling. Patients with March 2020 surgical dates at Surgery Centers may still happen, but there is a chance it won't.

We know that many of you have planned for these anticipated surgeries for many weeks and months. Rescheduling will therefore be logistically, psychosocially, and personally difficult to navigate. For this, please accept our deepest apologies. We will continue to take precautionary measures to keep you, our staff, and ourselves safe and to be available for patients in need.

We want to thank you for being amazing patients and for your support. We have always been and will continue to be transparent with surgeries and news regarding surgery. It is a privilege to serve you and we look forward to seeing you soon.
