BLOOD MOON ECLIPSE!
Mar 3, 2026 was a full Moon in Virgo at 3:38 am PT preceded by a total lunar eclipse at 3:33 am PT. Earth sign Virgo rules the 6th house of health, work, and service. Under the influence of Virgo’s common-sense intelligence, it’s best to focus on details and practicalities before the pace of life becomes very rapid in this Fire Horse year. It can be easier to quickly review, rethink, and redo because Mercury is retrograde from Feb 25 until Spring Equinox on Mar 20.
The first full Moon in this Fire Horse year is red! This full Moon eclipse will occur when the Moon moves into the Earth’s shadow and will appear red in color, creating a “blood Moon.” An eclipse is an absence of light when the shadow is seen, whereby unconscious patterns can come to the surface to be examined. For some people, this is time to reassess work commitments and responsibilities. For others, this Virgo eclipse and as the Moon wanes is time for nurturing and attention to health.
The Sun, retrograde Mercury, Venus, Mars, and a lunar node are all in Pisces. The intuitive and spiritual Water sign Pisces is opposite Virgo. Oppositions involve other people, those opposite you. There could be a conflict of Virgo professional or public duties and Pisces personal needs or boundaries. Fortunately, relationships can experience a new awareness and appreciation as Venus in late degrees of Pisces conjuncts Neptune and Saturn in Aries. Neptune selflessness and union of spirit can blend nicely with Saturn realistic considerations and loyalty.
Energy is strong and people are decisive during this peak of Tiger lunar month in Fire Horse year. Brave Tiger enjoys taking risks and being a leader. It’s fine to be a bit daring or take risks during a Tiger month because you can swiftly change course at any time in a Fire Horse year.
Surge in energy, inspiration, and renewed passion this blood Moon eclipse is for all, and is strongest for Earth signs Virgo, Capricorn and Ta**us and those born in Ox, Tiger, Horse, Dog, and Phoenix (Rooster) years.
Happy full Moon,
Susan
