We asked 500 women, “Do you feel like you can count on today’s healthcare?” In short, not really. We could be doing so much better. For many women, navigating the current system feels like a solitary challenge. But if you’ve ever felt let down or overlooked by your care, you are far from alone.

To change the future of care, we have to start by listening. We learned directly from women what their healthcare experiences feel like today and how they want things to change for the future. With the HPV vaccine and regular screening, cervical cancer is virtually 100% preventable. 👏 Here is what you need to know:

- Screening for HPV detect the virus that causes cervical cancer, even before cell changes occur.

But what exactly is the difference between Primary HPV testing and the Pap smear? Teal OBGYN, Dr. Mandigo, breaks it down:

While a Pap smear looks for cell changes on the cervix (requiring the speculum and stirrups), primary HPV testing looks for the virus that causes those changes. This allows us to catch the virus before it leads to pre-cancer or cancer, making it a more effective screening method than Pap smears alone. HPV testing is the preferred cervical cancer screening by all leading medical guidelines, and now, ACS and federal guidelines support doing it via self-collection.

With the Teal Wand  available nationwide, primary HPV testing can now be done from the comfort of home.
