is a time to recognize the extraordinary care all Zuckerberg San Francisco General providers bring to the patients, families, and to one another every day at ZSFG.

“In a hospital like ZSFG where the staff experience intense challenges daily, everyone provided a significant emotional cushion in our time of distress,” a grateful Emergency Department patient shares.

Thank you, ZSFG, for bringing respect, clarity, and compassion to every patient interaction.

Today we join Zuckerberg San Francisco General in celebrating the extraordinary staff who provide mental health and counseling services across the Hospital. Their work is essential, compassionate, and often happens in the most complex and vulnerable moments of care.

From the Bridge Clinic helping patients meet their goals around substance use, to the Psychiatric Emergency Services providing San Francisco's only 24/7 mental health emergency care, Zuckerberg San Francisco General is at the forefront of caring for our most vulnerable community members.

There’s no better way to kick off the San Francisco Giants 2026 Season than with the addition of a beautiful new Sculpture to China Basin Park at Mission Rock SF, San Francisco’s newest waterfront neighborhood on the The Port of San Francisco.

For over 20 years, Hearts in San Francisco Sculptures have symbolized generous support for our city’s only public hospital, Zuckerberg San Francisco General. Apexer's Heart, Fibers of Life, raised critical funds for ZSFG’s Transform Mental and Behavioral Health Fund, symbolizing Pam and Larry Baer’s deep commitment to expanding access to essential mental health support in our city.

Bright, orange, and woven together, this Heart is a beautiful reminder of the power of connection and community.

Did you know Zuckerberg San Francisco General hosts the renowned Orthopaedic Trauma Institute (OTI)? With the most extensive international outreach program and the largest number of trauma-specialty-trained providers in North America, OTI is essential to the SF Bay Area.

Dr. Ted Miclau, Director of OTI and Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at ZSFG, shares, “The care we provide is essential and outstanding – and that is in large part thanks to the team we have here at OTI. Every day, the team comes in and is just excited to be around each other, working together to help the community, no matter their situation, through the clinic and through research.”

From life- or limb-threatening injury care, to sports medicine and prosthetics, OTI is critical to the recovery and well-being of patients.

Today we are proudly celebrating the Honeycomb Clinic, located in Zuckerberg San Francisco General’s Children’s Health Center.

Founded in 2023 by Drs. Dannielle McBride and Ursula Griffiths-Randolph, the Honeycomb Clinic is a program that pairs Black-identified patients with a Black-identified clinician, if they choose, allowing for a commonality not often found in health care settings.

The Honeycomb Clinic has seen remarkable success since their founding, including raising continuity of care and steadily dropping no-show rates.
