What a week across Sequoia Living!
From the Bay Area to Boston, our residents, Future Residents, and team members were immersed in learning, connection, and conversations that shape the future of healthy, joyful aging.
Live Better Longer at the Buck Institute:
Residents and Future Residents from The Tamalpais Marin spent the day at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, where Dr. Julie K. Andersen presented powerful insights on the search for real treatments for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s — and practical steps we can all take to support long-term brain health.
After the seminar, the group enjoyed a tour of the Buck’s campus and a delicious lunch paired with a thoughtful talk from Minna Schmidt. A meaningful day of discovery and connection!
Sequoia Living at in Boston:
Our President & CEO, Sara McVey, joined national leaders for an inspiring discussion on reimagining well-being in senior living. The conversation explored how organizations can move beyond standalone programs to create cultures that nurture physical, emotional, and social vitality — enhancing satisfaction, longevity, and purpose for older adults.
Cultivating a Culture of Growth & Inclusivity:
Also at LeadingAge25, Sara McVey, Chief People Officer Martha Atwood, and Denise Boudreau of Drive Culture Outcomes shared how Sequoia Living’s two-year workforce-strengthening initiative transformed the employee experience.
By embracing growth mindset, inclusivity, and accountability, turnover dropped to an all-time low of 17% — strengthening both team engagement and resident satisfaction.
It’s a powerful reminder of what can happen when every voice is heard and every person feels supported.
Across Sequoia Living, the spirit of was on full display.
