It's Menopause Awareness Month! You might be aware of this natural bodily process that occurs as women age, but you may not know how common it is for women to experience uncomfortable symptoms while the body's estrogen production declines, creating a hormone imbalance. These symptoms include hot flashes (or flushes), night sweats, sleep disturbance, vaginal dryness, incontinence (loss of bladder control), mood changes, weight gain (especially around the abdomen), and many more.

While treatments may be under-studied, there are therapies that can help. People experiencing these symptoms can be prescribed compounded hormone replacement therapy under the supervision of their physician, who can tailor the formula and dosage form to the exact needs of each patient.
