👁️ What Are Conjunctival Folds?
Conjunctival folds — also known as redundant conjunctiva or conjunctivochalasis — occur when the thin membrane that covers the white part of the eye and lines the inside of the eyelids becomes loose, wrinkled, or displaced.
These folds can develop due to chronic inflammation, aging, ocular surface stress, or dry eye disease, and may cause symptoms such as irritation, excessive tearing, or a foreign body sensation — especially when blinking or looking in certain directions.
✨ Treatment Spotlight:
Plasma Pen (Plasma Fibroblast Therapy) offers a non-surgical way to help tighten and smooth redundant conjunctival tissue, especially when it extends near the lid margin or causes surface irregularity. It works by creating controlled micro-injuries that stimulate collagen remodeling, restoring smoother, more even tissue.
