We are thinking of each of you through the wild fires, pandemic, and battle for racial equality. We wish you a happy Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashana) and hope that we all can find happiness, peacefulness, and love in the new year.

We think everyone deserves the gift of love. We know it's not always easy to know what you need, so we've made a quiz to help you understand just how to receive that gift!

Today doesn’t mark the day enslaved persons were emancipated in 1865 - that happened over two years prior in in 1863. June 19, 1865 marks the day when ALL enslaved persons LEARNED about their emancipation.

We celebrate, embrace, support and LOVE the Black community. You can do the same by choosing to support a black-owned business, calling officials over policies and sending them emails, and by simply taking 10 minutes to learn about Juneteenth.

This is our history. This is a day of celebration. WE THE PEOPLE!!!!

We thank each of you for your support, willingness to listen, and empathy. Our community is beautifully filled with all colors and demographics, and we are proud of stand in unity with Black Lives, LGBTQ Rights, and Women’s Equality.

Whether it’s your partner’s way of closing the cereal box that drives you nuts, or the person who has hair a color you’d never choose, learning to accept (and value!) differences can help you be more empathic and understanding of others, as well as yourself.

If someone is different, and you feel challenged, or scared, or maybe even confused by them, it’s an incredible opportunity to step back, look inward, and ask yourself why their differences trigger uncomfortable feelings within yourself.

Sometimes, what we don’t understand on the outside can be found within. And, maybe, if we step back, we’ll be able to see that outward differences are on the surface... and inward, for the most part, we’re all quite the same.

❤️

This is your one precious life. Courage, trust, and belief in yourself is what allows life to teach you, grow you, and become the greatest version of who you already are within. When you become afraid, this is normal, of course we will feel fear, so just pause, take a couple of deep breaths, listen to what the fear is saying to you, then keep on walking your path bringing the fear along with you. ~xoxo Michelle Maros

Our Story

Gal Szekely and Liron Cohen, partners and founders of The Couples Center, met in Egypt on vacation. Though their romance was initially warm and passionate, troubles creeped in. They wanted to be together, but they were struggling to work it out; Gal and Liron eventually broke up, twice.

Then, they decided to work on it.

“We took workshops, went to counseling, and took on our own personal growth—and what we learned transformed us.” Gal left his tech job to become a therapist. Liron let go of her design career and also became a therapist. “Together, we created a relationship that’s more fun, loving, and passionate than either of us ever could have imagined. We appreciate each other’s gifts and talents and learn so much from each other. In fact, we felt so inspired that we decided to dedicate our lives to working with couples and we created The Couples Center.”

Very few things are as rewarding as feeling close and connected to an intimate partner. Yet creating and maintaining an intimate relationship can be challenging. The Couples Center help couples create the relationship they want through counseling, education and workshops.
