Join me for my Winter Yin Workshop - TONIGHT at The Yoga Post in Petaluma (7p - 8:30p).

Winter, the season of introspection and tranquility, invites us to turn our focus inward, embracing the quietude and stillness that blankets the world. In the tapestry of nature's cycles, winter symbolizes a time of rest, reflection, and regeneration.

During the winter season our kidneys take the primary focus in East Asian Medicine, as they represent the source of our vital energy. They are the reservoirs of life force, supplying nourishment to every aspect of our being. When our Kidney Qi is robust, we experience a strengthened immune system and heightened resilience to the cold. Conversely, an imbalance may manifest as feelings of fear or a susceptibility to winter ailments.

Please join me in this deeply nourishing & contemplative yin yoga practice is designed to harmonize our energies with the winter season, encouraging the release of stagnant energy and making space for rejuvenation. As we surrender to passive, gentle postures, we release tension stored in our bodies, allowing the nourishing essence of winter to replenish our inner reservoirs.

Registration is open for the Spring Renewal Yoga & Meditation Retreat (April 7-10)!

Join Monique and SheanaOyoga for a 4 day (3 night) Spring Renewal Yoga and Meditation Retreat at the tranquil and chic Bell Valley Retreat located in the hills above Anderson Valley (just 2.5 hours north of San Francisco).

This is truly a special place, as the retreat land spans more than 600 acres, with extensive trails weaving through rolling oak hills and open meadows. Each element of Bell Valley Retreat promotes harmony and integration with the land, designed to honor the natural landscape originally settled by Native Pomo tribes.

Spring is a potent season of renewal, rebirth and blossoming as we emerge out of the darkness and stillness of winter. Retreat invites an intentional container to explore the personal meaning of this shift in season as well as an opportunity for self reflection, healing and transformation.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, spring is the season associated with Liver meridian (detoxification and cultivating compassion). The retreat practices will support energy balance of this channel as well as harmony and release in the physical and subtle energy centers of body, heart and mind.

All levels of yoga practice are welcome. Some meditation experience is preferred, but not required.

Spots are filling up quickly, so early registration is recommended.

I'm excited to share the good news that Green Gulch Zen Center has re-opened for retreats to resume in the Yurt space.

I will be leading a sacred day of embodied practice at the beautiful and serene Green Gulch in Muir Beach on Sunday December 12th.

I believe it is a potent time to begin to slowly gather again in healing spaces. I trust that we have each been on a unique inner journey since the world changed in March 2020. And my hope is that this day for inward retreat can hold us in further healing, integration, and processing. We will focus on practices that quiet the mind and open the heart, supporting continuity of mindfulness and the unfolding of insight and somatic wisdom.

The day will include:
- Sitting and walking meditation (some guidance & instruction)
- Gentle yang yoga (all levels)
- Organic vegetarian lunch prepared by Green Gulch farm
- Yin & Restorative yoga
- Invitations for psycho-spiritual inquiry (inner practice)
- Seclusion and peace that a day of silent practice on sacred land can provide

I am writing to share an update on the Silent Yoga & Meditation Retreat that I usually hold over the New Years holiday. While we seem to be emerging out of this pandemic, my heart and intuition are guiding me to wait until the spring to host my next retreat. My hope is that as warmer weather approaches we can enjoy fresh air and beautiful scenery by opening the barn doors of the practice space, as well as enjoying shared meals outdoors.

I am delighted to announce that I will be co-leading the next retreat at Bell Valley Retreat April 7-10, 2022 with my dear friend / angel assistant Sheana O'Sullivan. I hope that those of you who expressed interest in the New Year's Retreat will be able to join us for a transformative spring renewal. I can't wait.

More details to follow in January. Until then, wishing you each a restful and joyful holiday season.
