We would like to invite you to view the cause page of one of our residents, Audrey, who needs some essential dental work done. She has had dental work done in the past months at UCSF but now this particular work is not covered by her insurance. Therefore Audrey went to Homeless Connect and signed up for “HandUp.org”

On April 2nd, 2016 Good Shepherd Gracenter had a Gardening party to help celebrate Earth Month and beautify our wonderful location here on Bacon street in San Francisco. With the hard work from some wonderful people everything seemed to fall right into place as the day went on.

From running a lawn mower to just sitting on the ground pulling weeds, it really showed how much love there is for Good Shepherd Gracenter and the beautiful city that we live in.

We had people from all walks of life, small children that just wanted to play outside in the dirt, to a 96-year-old man that worked with a 15-year-old boy digging ditches to create a beautiful decorative boarder to the garden. We really got a chance to show the younger generation the importance of giving back, and gave them a firsthand experience of doing something for someone with not expecting anything in return (another words pay it forward). The day was finished with a family style BBQ outside were we all got to eat hamburgers and hot dogs, and chips and drinks and look back on what a wonderful day we all just had.

This event was the exact definition of zeal from our core values. “We value the passionate giving of our time and talents in whole-hearted service of others and concern for the betterment of our world”

We want to THANK everyone who came out: The Good Shepherd Sisters, Gracenter Staff, current and past residents and all the volunteers that gave up their Saturday. Thank you for all your hard work.
