✨How To Get Things Done!✨+ other 💞Skills for Self-Care + Focus💞
Ok IG Fam… Here’s a little preview of the self-care skills that we work on in skills coaching:
We start with the 💙Triangle of Attention💙- It sounds quite simple…
1) 💜Focus your attention💜 like a flashlight 🔦 on 1 achievable goal at a time …
2) 💛Delay Distraction💛 (keep a to-do list and write down every distracting thought eg *Read later!!) and …
3) 💗Build A Bridge To LT Memory 💗 (ie do it over and over again until it feels like “muscle memory” - Me, I didn’t exercise before but NOW I get crabby if I don’t ! It works :)
Again, it sounds “simple”…. But y hat is NOT the same as “easy.” Coaching helps!! 💎 You can do it!
Next, we have 💙Expanding Your Time Horizon💙… We build this skill over time and combine it with other skills like boosting your body budget and learning your limits. Over time you master the ability to zoom out of the stress that it right in front of you to slowly expand your ability to plan self-care forward into meaningful life goals for the future. THIS is the fun part of 🌈 🌈.
The 3rd skill for and that I’ll preview (of many more!) is 💙Shaping A Goal or Mood through Rituals of Connection 💙… This beautiful skill allows you to shape your habits and routine by embodying the culture you wish to live through the art of ritual. We use skills to help you learn what matters most as you build habits that center those priorities in your life. Say you want more movement in your life, Ok - we pick the pharmacy a little farther from your house and you walk there. We start small and expand to profound, meaningful life goals❣️ This is the really, REALLY fun part of therapy!
