Congrats, Yuxin! Over the next few weeks, we'll be celebrating our volunteers who have been accepted to graduate programs! We love being an important part of their journey to medical school, nursing school, PA school, and more.

One of our amazing clinic volunteer, Yuxin was accepted at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. Clinic Manager Karen says, "I love the way she is thorough with our patients. She looks at every little thing." Thank you for completing 133 hours of volunteering. We'll miss you!

We are so honored to be named Climate Champion of the Month by the Climate Psychiatry Alliance!

During Ramadan, a San Francisco heat wave brought a Yemeni woman into our clinic with heat stress. We had resources on hand, but nothing in Arabic. And we quickly realized that our usual response of offering water wasn't right either. During Ramadan, our patients need different supports.

We contacted the Climate Psychiatry Alliance for permission to translate their "How to Survive Extreme Heat" flyer. Our staff translated it and updated the imagery to be culturally appropriate that same day. Our patient went home with it in hand.

Thank you to the Climate Psychiatry Alliance for this recognition and for saying yes so quickly. This is what it looks like when organizations show up for each other.

Health equity isn't a policy. It's a person sitting beside a patient and figuring it out together.

Marcela holds an MPH and is helping us launch our new Community Health Worker program. Last week, a patient had made multiple trips to SF General but had no way to access his records. His provider needed them. He had never heard of MyChart and definitely didn't know how to log in.

Marcela called SFG with him. Got him a login. Found his results. Got the results into the provider's hands.

No patient should have to navigate that alone. This is wraparound care. This is why we are building this program. Marcela is one person. Imagine what a full program could do. Help us get there by supporting us: https://ow.ly/M0bB50YJ9Xp

Three ER transports last week. One of them was a patient we helped navigate her new insurance coverage just days before she needed it most.

Our team doesn’t hand patients a phone number and wish them luck. We coordinate the ride, we get in the Waymo with them, and we stay until they’re in the hands of the care team on the other side.

This is what whole-person care looks like in the Excelsior. We’re not just a clinic. We’re family. 💙

At our Clinic by the Bay board retreat yesterday, we spent time reflecting on where we are headed and what matters most in the years ahead.

We aligned around several core priorities: increasing awareness of the clinic, going deeper with our patients through whole-person care, and helping train the next generation of healthcare leaders.

We also confirmed the values that guide our work every day: patients are royalty, everyone belongs, and we invest in what matters.

We are grateful for a board and leadership team willing to think deeply, dream boldly, and stay rooted in the mission.

It’s not every day that you see an exam table crossing the street! Thank you to MedCycle Network for delivering a new exam table and removing the old table. They saved us thousands of dollars by delivering this table. Can’t wait to welcome patients in exam room 4.
