ADVICE FOR KNEE AND HIP REPLACEMENT
An unpleasant, while fortunate option, or a large number of people Is knee and hip replacements. While fitness is wonderful it may have side effects.. A year ago I was a 66 year old woman running up and down hills and pushing 180 pounds, My quads could lift 130 and I was.I was over 300 pounds on a calf machine. Like many, I had to confront repercussions. The more I tried to ignore pain , the more is screamed out at me. "Give up. You need surgery,"
A year older and three days post-op I have the grace and agility of Frankenstein. I would like to help others to prepare for this:
THINGS I WISH I KNEW BEFORE MY JOINT REPLACEMENT
1, Buy the loose hideous attire, perfect to detract unwanted attention. Moreover, you probably do not want attention given to your post-op curves. Unless you have help dressing, your only other options nudity., Bear in mind with hip replacement forward flexion is contraindicated. While the scale may show ten pound of extra fluid your girth show greater gains.. You will begin to miss the liberty of being able to get dressed without help.
1a. I just ordered some copper compression sock. While I will need the assistance of my "grabber". I look forward to getting them. (Once more discuss this with your orthopedist.
2, Baby yourself with high chairs. Low chairs are a trap. Another option is to add pillows and blankets to lower chairs.
3. Pre-purchase 1. a high toilet seat. 2. Shower chair 3 adjustable cane
4. If you enjoy being productive start an online course, novel that will change the course of history. Ironically, with nothing to do, iI find putting it into a daily planner.

5. Get a belt or some device puts your cell phone within reach. Rushing to answer the phone is dangerous, as well useless
5. If you are ambitious get a schedule planner. Try to be productive. You may not be able to run a marathon but try. to alleviate your boredom. Do your best to regard the as an opportunity to write, contact friends, start meditating , learn
about things that interest you.
6. Br positive. It is easy to regard this time as frustrating and humiliating. Think in terms of the parent who tells their child that children in the world are starving. THINK POSITIVE YOU. JOINT REPLACEMENT IS A FORTUNATE OPTION.
